Crash on starting a new game

Yeah I don't know how to get to the debug so I can't post it. All I know is that the game boots up just fine, I pick my galaxy setting and my oppenents and what not. Then, no matter what setting I choose the game crashes as soon as I hit start. I'm running Windows Vista 64 bit verstion with a NVIDIA 9800GT graphics card. Windows can't figure out for me what is going on but it just started whenever I updated to version 2.0 any help would be nice.

Go to My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and clear out everything but the prefs.ini file and see if that helps.  If not, please send the debug.err to support@stardock.com with a description of the problem.

I am getting the same thing.  When I start a new game, it doesn't just crash, but reboots my computer.  I am playing just the basic GalCiv2 (no expansions).  I have entered the key and am just trying to play my first game...

Pookus, your problem is different and you should start your own thread.

Start a new thread and include your debug.err info.

It is located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2 and can be opened with Notepad. Simply select everything, then copy and paste the contents into your post.

Just as info, if your computer is rebooting it is likely a driver or hardware problem. Your debug info should give a hint as to what is going on.
