Wont even load anymore

I was having some graphical issues with the game (minor), so i uninstalled and reinstalled.

Now when i try and load up the game it just gives me a 3/4 black screen and nothing happens.

Im rather confused as to why this is happening.

Edit the Prefs.ini file to reflect your desktop resolution.

The lines you need to look for are:

[Video]
DisplayWidth=(your display width)
DisplayHeight=(your display height)

Note that there is a separate Prefs.ini for each version of the game, each in their respective folder (which is found in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2, etc)

I've been having a very similar problem, with the demo. I changed the details in prefs.ini as you described. But that just means the black square fills the screen lol.

Also switch the Windowed mode setting from 0 to 1.
