First, here's a screenshot of the problem:

Now, this is with the newest graphic card driver, on a 7800 GS, winXP 32-bit. This happens when I either retire or go to the main menu whilst in-game and try to start a new game. I open up the tech tab and---you can see from above. It's a minor problem, and aside from the turn button sometimes disappearing and needing to reload a save to bring back, and rare CTDs, everything else works just fine. But it's a sore sight, like a nail that's just begging to be hammered down, and I just can't get my attention away from it.

Anyone know what's going on here?
