Hi all,

I just got the CG2 DA Gold boxed set and have been playing.  I am on the third mission of the campaign and I am enjoying the game for the most part, but I have a couple of questions/issues.

1) After installing and registering and installing and setting up impulse I ran the update thing from the splash screen that says play, update, manual as options.  I foudn and updat from the installed version 1.5.XX.XX to 1.5.XX.DD, where DD was the only difference in the update numbers - so I ran that.

Then I went to run the game and the executable that launches the game is gone from the install directory.  I can no longer run the executable that give the play/update/manual options because it has apparently been removed from my system by the update process.  I can still run the game because I can create a direct link to the game executable.

Am I going to have to uninstall and re-install to recover from this?  Is there a way to initiate the update process without this program on my computer?

2) What is the most recent patch?  I was surprised when Impulse said 1.5.xx.dd, because I was reading things in the forums about 1.6, 1.8, etc.

3) I am on the third mission of the campaign, and while I am enjoying making ships, etc. I am finding the actual gameplay to be a bit boring.  I started the campaign on the normal difficulty and the OPFOR seems to be mostly content with sitting and waiting for me to come along and wipe them out.  Oh, there are the occasional half-hearted forays into my space, but no or little comes of it.  I cant' even get them to come out and fight when I keep blowing up their starbases.

Am I missing something?
