Space Pirates EVERYWHERE

First off I'd lke to thank the Devs for a simpply increadable game. That said My latest game I have a huge problem... the #$%^@^@ Prite event has happened not once but 3 Times!!!!! After the first 2 Pirate waves I was finaly getting ships that could chalange their fleets, then the event poped again! I didn't have the latest version, but anyway, has this happen to anyone else?

Three times....yikes!

The event has only happened to me a very few times, in the course of over 500 metaverse games. Many of the mega-events are made more likely by conditions in the game, mainly how you are playing, or how you are doing in conparison with the AIs. I dont know specifically what makes the pirates more likely to appear though.

One strategy that you can use is to design super-fast transports, so that whenever the pirates destroy the defenders on an enemy planet, you swoop in with your troops and take it on the same turn.

Sentient species taste better...

Unfortunately the Pirates camp at my, and everyone else's, planets and transports would die. My "Plan" was to reaserch until I had enough beam wepons to kill the pirates then start to rebuild my stations and trade.

Make them fast enough to out-maneuver the pirates on the map. Don't end a turn w/in reach of a pirate.

HydroAC and myself have come across this event many times and his strategy is one to use against them. My event happen toward the games end and the pirates were just gross. They are listed in the TA 'random events are not so random' thread.

Well, I can say that the Pirates didn't beat me...

Just after the first Pirate event, the Yor got the Progenitor event where they get MASSIVE bonuses to research. So while I was working on building ships to fight and kill the pirate menace, they went strait for a tech victory. Near the end I was pushing back the pirates and rebuilding my stations and traded routes. The few Yor ships I did encounter where push overs since I had built up for pirates. Just I didn't find their home world in time...
