Playing on a medium map with about 5 ascension crystals I noticed something odd when another race destroyed an unprotected starbase mining an ascension crystal.  After rebuilding on the crystal with another constructor I noticed that my time to Ascension victory lessened by a certain percentage.  Is it possible to exploit this by allowing that race to constantly destroy my starbases and then rebuilding on them to further lessen the time until my victory?  I could not verify this any further as it was getting late but I will later today.

  If this has been discussed already then I apologize - I tried to search for a similar topic but could not find any.

EDIT:  After testing this again I found that I did not consider the fact that getting a starbase mining the ascension crystal sets your ascension victory back where if you did not have that crystal.  Please ignore this post, and I'm going to chalk it up to being late at night and my mind not being as sharp as it should be otherwise
