Hi,

is there an easier way to update a retail version of Galactic Civilizations 2: Dread Lords?

I mean, I had to register with your site (annoying), download an extra software called Impulse (even more annoying and pretty useless) which is now downloading another 500MB of updates -- is this even right? Anyway, to add insult to injury neither the manual, the "Update" function of the game nor this webpage clearly states that the above mentioned, annoying steps had to be taken. It doesn't help either that many promising sounding links provided in the sticky section of this board are dead and I wasted a good 30 minutes to find the above mentioned, annoying solution.

This offers a really bad experience and I'm so pissed right now that I a) had to vent here, regret buying this game, and c) suffer a dent to my enjoyment I'd otherwise have with 4X games.
