Custom Tech Tree

I have been working on customizing my homeworld and starting star system in TA, but I have had little success in mix and matching different tech abilities in the various tech trees. I was wondering if anyone knew how to add different race specific technologies to other tech trees most specifically.

What do you mean?
If you want a "shared" tech you will have to define it in a Techtree.xml file located in ..Twilight\Mods\Modname\Data or ..Twilight\Mods\Modname\Data\Tech with filename of your likening for adding to default techtree
If you want to add racespecific techs you will have to define xml files in ..Twilight\Mods\Modname\Data\Techtrees

Right what I was really trying for was adding certain race specific techs to another race's tech tree. To do this I tried modding the TechTree.xml in the techtree folder in data. When I tried loading the game though what happened was that the Tech tree I was trying to mod loaded without any of its original race specific techs. This happened most specifically when I tried to add weather control to the torian tech tree, which needed a prereq of xeno geology. After that the game loaded fine but the torian tech tree lost everything from schools to pools.
