I have played TA in about a month now and I am lowing it.
But in the past week I have experimented with playing all random games. The game mode is normal, I chose my own race and the difficulty but everything else is all random.
I do it because I want to make a stretegy that are able to beat every setup in the game.
Have anyone done that too? And what where your experience with it?
My experience is that I have best experience with krynn, max out the morale and econemy stat and nothing can beat me (I am playing on challenging difficulty). In the econemy window I tax the people to a 50% happines (I know about the growth penalty), direct all the founds to reasearch (no millitary or social production), even if I direct all the founds to reasearch I get a 40GP a week and it quickly rises to a 100GP in the first weeks. The result is the by far the best research and econemy in the game.
Then I buy all my builings and ships, so i get my bonuses at once when and where I want it. The krynns temple buildings with there great morale and influence bonuses just fit perfect into my plan, I can rasie my taxes even more and I will start to convert a lot of the enemys planets. If I just can get one morale mine and max it out I am able to have a happines on 62% and 100% tax!!

Sometimes I will place some influence starbases where it will hurt the enemy the most and slowly drain him of all his good planets. And if the enemy goes at war with me I am able to create a fleet wherever I want in my empire, because I can by my first ship the same round I bought the stardock, and not wait for my main force to be transported from one end of the empire to the other because my production planets are in the wrong end.
One last thing is that every planet with a quality above 7 have empty fields (exept if they got at super projekt or trade good) and I have never used them. Maybe I want to palce some galactic stock exchanges there.
