In the last game I played, I noticed some strange behavior involving trades.
1) Toxic Atmosphere Reducer and Advanced Toxic Atmosphere Reducer. I was playing as the Korath. In the beginning of the game, I noticed that no AI would even give me a single BC for these techs. That made sense as there were no toxic planets on the map. However, after I conquered most of the map with spore ships, the AI was still unwilling to give anything for these techs. I finally reduced the map to one AI on one planet. I gifted half the map to the AI (all toxic planets) and the AI still refused to give anything for even a package that included both techs. This is clearly messed up.
2) Ascension Starbases. If you give an Ascension Starbase to an AI, the Ascension points are still given to you and all the AIs are still upset at you for trying to ascend. The AI you gave it to will still protect it as if it had value and will declare war on you if you try to destroy it. I assume this could make Ascension even easier as you could just acquire all Ascension crystals, gift them to other civs, and not even have to worry about defending them.
Has anyone else noticed any strange trade behavior? Do these count as bugs or are they "intentional"?
Edit: This forum desperately needs a preview ability.
