I'm playing as a custom race using the "" race as my tech tree. It is still early and a new "ship design" has become available to me. I looked at it and it is called the "Phoenix Mark 7". Here are the problems.
(1) It is violating size restrictions, in the design view it displays 30 of 26 spaces used.
(2) It is actually carrying 46 spaces of equipment. 1 Plasma Cannon (8), 2 Superior Deflectors (4), and 5 Laser
