TA - Dread Lords issue

Running latest TA update: GalCivII 1.50.133, Twilight 0.96a[b].004

Playing Human, Gigantic galaxy, seven opponents, challenging.

Early in the game (2-3 years), the Dread Lords appeared, announcing they were going to take over the galaxy, etc. The very next turn, they surrended to everyone, and as terms of surrender, they were literally giving away almost every technology available. I was able to go from Phasor II to Doom Ray instantly, as an example. The number of techs they gave me numbered close to 30.

I've never seen the Dread Lords surrender. Of course, in this latest beta it seems as though everyone surrenders too easily. This mechanic seems to be in need of repair.

My only beef with the Dread Lord event is that they will only speak to you when they want to.

"OH noes the Dread Lords are soooo gonna kill us all!" - after hearing something like that, i sent my ships all over the map to look for them, and focused 100% on weapons research; one turn later, the 2° weakest AI destroyed the dread lords, and it took me a couple angry minutes to send all ships back to their location, and to fix the build order of my planets...
