Purchased the Arnor update 2 days ago - now completeing my 5th game.
2 'unique' happenings which I'm not sure are bugs. Anyone who knows, just drop me a note.
Minor Races - possessing 'super techs' in clusters.
e.g. best propulsion in the game - Warp II. suddenly 1 independant minor race has Hyperwarp 2, plus 4-6 additional techs at the same level. As a human, I trade for these with little or no loss involved.
This seems to happen 1-2x per game. I do realize the minor races go research crazy based on the number of labs they seem to have, but his seems a little outlandish.
e.g. snathi possess Death ray, while the best beam weapon is still at Phaser 2. yet the build defenses based on low level particle cannon? The get invaded too easily, or they trade to the humans techs so far ahead without problem.
Again, it's seems unrealistic, but I am enjoying the sudden boosts to technology.
Yor sphere of influence 'doubles' when they are attacked with overwhelming force.
The Yor's ability to reduce the speed of incoming vessels to 3 is neat. But i have noticed the following condition occurs.
1.) we're at peace, I am not allied with Yor.
2.) Build influence starbase to extend my sphere of influence into Yor territory.
3.) My influence now extends 3-6 squares into Yor space, within range of Yor Planet.
4.) someone I am allied too, declares war on Yor.
5.) Yor influence obliterates by influence. Influence stabase now engulfed 3-5 squares. Ships all immobile.
I would love to have THAT ability to quadruple my influence the moment we go to war.
Anyways - open to suggestions.
Overall - SERIOUS IMPROVEMENT OVER THE LAST GAME!!! Job well done!
