traded tech wont take affect

yes i guess im turning into that annoying owl but here is another bug i noticed. When i traded for any of the techs allowing me to land on toxic etc. worlds, it wont take affect. Even though it shows up as i own the tech it still says i need to research it. I tried multiple ways around it but even after you research the advanced it still says i dont have it. quite rly.

Have you hit the turn button?  Any techs that give new abilities do not go into effect until the next turn.

I had this same problem happen while I had just invested one turn of research on Toxic Atmosphere Reductor but had to trade so I could colonize the planet first. I was unable to colonize the planet after I traded for it. It wasn't until after I got Advanced Toxic Atmosphere Reductor that I was able to colonize those planets but production was limited by 50%. Later on when researching some of the other advanced colonization techs I realized that an icon was missing from the tech. When looking at the Advanced Colonization techs, they each have a little icon on the bottom half that tells you about the 50% ability to colonize (and the aquatic +2% courage). However, the Toxic Atmosphere Reductor did NOT have this icon. I'm not sure how the code is written to enable the benefits of a technology once it has been researched/acquired, but it looked like the benefit wasn't even connected. That might cause the icon to not be displayed and not grant me the ability to colonize.

It has only happened once, and I believe I was playing the Yor with the 2A patch.

Taikoen, if you didn't see the icon by the tech then that means the bonus was not connected to the tech.  Do you notice the problem in the most recent beta 3b?

Taikoen, once you get the latest version (3B) of the beta (as CodeCritter has suggested), make sure to start a new game with the Yor and just go right to the research screen and see if this is still happening. Loading your old game will most likely still cause the problem since it stores some of that info in the gamesave, whereas a new game will use the most recent data files.

Let us know if this fixes the issue, because on our internal build here at the office those icons are showing up and the ability does become available.
