Ships that can be used without having a mod active

I want to put them in my DA/Gfx/Models folder like Rav's ships.

Hi all! Hope the title was clear.

I've been using Rav's amazing BSG ships. The thing I like is that I don't have to use a mod, all I have to do is drop them in that folder. I guess I'm particularly trying to find medium and large ships.

Can I convert ships that are not intended to go in that folder? I don't mind modding XML, as long as someone can tell me how. My main thing would just be that I don't want to have to use Omega or Kyro's. Just an unmodded DA with some extra ships. Metaverse games incoming!

well all you have to do is rename a "ship"'s name to start S99_size_number 0-9. exmple s99_small_0 that makes it a generic hull used by all races thats what the bsg hulls are doing. If your looking ofr more ships like that may I suggest the Imperial ship pack (my shameless promotion of my pet project) which can be downloaded over at the I-mod productions website, there is over 30 odd ships there many are just what you might be looking for.

Can I do that with any ship file that is a .x file? Can I convert, say, a huge ship to be a medium ship just by renaming it?

Yeah, well unless were talking a ship that is already in game like if you rename S1_large_0 to S1_medium_0 I dont think it will work because it also has xml info but if you were say to rename S1_large_0 to S99_medium_0 then yeah I think that would work but the ship would be still "large" in size as compared to other medium hulls but it would have the same amount of spaces as a medium hull.

Just one other thing... your ships are awesome. I added about 8 of em. The one small issue is that the Lambda Shuttle doesn't show at the start of a Normal game. I can see it in Battle of the Gods, but not Normal.

I'm using it as S99_small_1.X by the way. Just dropped it right in GalCiv2/Gfx/Models along with the rest.

Thats odd it worked fine for me when I tested it but then again I never tested them all together. I'll make sure I packed it correctly, but to be honest I am working on releasing a new pack which contains many more ships and also I went back and rescaled all the old ones to make the sizes between ships more pronounced I will of course make sure that the shuttle works for this release which might be out by the weekend maybe two weeks at the latest.

Yeah... not a big deal. I don't really use small or tiny ships, so I barely miss it. Your others loaded fine.

And without mods, I'm loading about 4 times as fast
