The Gerontocracy is here, and the universe will never be the same.

This empire is intended for players over the age of 30, hence the name of the empire. Judging by other threads, that means about 89% of us. For that other 11%, my advice is to hurry up and get older; in the meantime, though, there are plenty of other empires to join, even if they're not nearly as awesome as we are.

I think that #4 slot might be due in large part to mightygoobi's mighty return. Scores age quickly on the AltMeta, and it looks like you've posted a passle of fresh ones. Welcome back.

Good to see you back mightygoobi. Those scores you are posting for the empire are impressive, great work!

Good Lord, I don't even show up on the Altmeta anymore.  I've been stuck in the same game for 3 months.

What other empires? It is just me  and well the top two Empires plus the Pub that are active. I know I am at your heels in rank but I have three characters so I would be fewer than you, mightygoobi.

Well, it wasn't a game to be proud of, but at least I finally finished another one for the Gerontocracy. But it might be my last for a while on account of the Elemental beta starting soon. There's no sign of a Metaverse for that game, but I still hope to see a few other Gerontocrats on the boards

Good show GW.

Shamefully, I must admit I can't even find the time to get back to a game I started almost a month ago.

My time dedicated to gaming has basically come to a grinding halt. In fact, I seldom have time to check out the forums on a regular basis any more and only stumbled upon this recent addition by you only days later.

Elemental looks interesting, but sadly I'm afraid I'll lag behind considerably in keeping up with it's development.

particle, I'm pretty sure I started that game I just posted back in May. I'm not really a grownup, but grownup crap keeps taking good chunks of my time.

Still, we're hanging in there at #4 on the AltMeta, mostly thanks to mightygoobi, madsko, UncleCraig, and FLP_NDRox.

Swicord and Particle keep this thread from dying - thank you to you! Catching the Kzinti might be a bit tough - but just hanging in to the game makes for pleasant and challenging experience. It's great that a game quite old now by game standards can still maintain an interest, because it is good.

It seems that My Empire should keep you alive too, so that it would be a challenging experience and be active for both of us. You are welcome in my Empire thread too so don't be a strange, drop a comment, anyway some of our goals are the same.

Good Hunting

Hey guys, hope everything is well with all of you.

I haven't been playing GalCiv2 much lately, I'm afraid, but thought I would pop in to see how you're all doing. (Well, actually, also to see if there was any reason my Sacred 2 was taking forever to download).

Howdy, ghostwes. Glad to hear your new situtation has settled down enough for you to pick up a game.

Nice of you to stop by ghostwes. Hope everything is going well for you.

The Gerontocracy is still alive and kicking thanks to a hardcore bunch (sadly, I am not one of them). Such is life.

Share your thoughts with us... what's a happenin' ?

Fellow Gerontocrats, I just hit the AltMeta for the first time in far too long and noted that we are still hanging on to 3rd place despite being down to 8 folks with some points that haven't aged out. madsko alone has posted the bulk of our empire score and is #17 on the highly competitive All Universal ladder, but Bellatrix holds #6 on Civ Universal and Wheezer is #9 on that ladder. UncleCraig is #4 on Civ Solar.

An even more pleasant surprise is that our Esteemed Founder ghostwes posted a pair of games last month and has himself at #7 on Military Galactic. Maybe he'll pop by here and say howdy again soon.

Me, it turns out I had a very geriatric moment when I started my current game and it is not an MV game. I'm hoping that the Elemental beta will stretch still further both for the good of that game and to give me a chance to get one more MV game in before the pain of Elemental shifts from beta frustration to just-one-more-turn.

What? Kids on the lawn again? We need an automated defense system. Or maybe we can arm the nurses and get them to shoot the buggers. Just need some quiet weapons that won't interrupt nap time...

Geez!

Looks like us geezers were in danger of slipping into 9th place after a somewhat lengthy and comfy 4th and 5th spot (AltMeta) not too long ago. If it were not for the efforts of Uncle Craig to bring us back from the brink I fear we might be booted out of the heralded top 10... good grief... damn those young'uns!

I think we are now in 8th spot, thanks to his diligence. Good work sir, if you are ever nosing around the forums to read this. I fear our silent but steadfast "points getter", madsko may have succumbed to GalCiv 2 fatigue, which is his right after all, with an extremely long and heroic stretch of game submissions, he cannot be faulted after such herculean efforts... chapeaux off to you sir! I believe it was he who kept us in the running for so long, along with a few submissions from other Gerontocrats from Jan. 2011 onward. Maybe he is just taking a well deserved break, hopefully we'll see him again.

Let me be the latest (and hopefully not the last) to contribute. I shall hereby humbly submit my latest and most feeble of efforts to our great empire... The Gerontocracy.

Long live the sitz bath my friends!
