Does a Mine (or similar) button appear on the context panel when you have your miner positioned on an asteroid?

You can also set your miners to automatically build and improve mining bases.

IS your miner actually on one of the large asteroids? the first time i tried, i had mine sitting in the field but it wasnt actually mining.

It shoulkd automatically shown a wrench icon and say "5 weeks" , and if you zoom in you can see some rings moving from your ship.

There should *always* be an automate button when you have a miner selected and it is not in an asteroid field. When you send it into one, it should automatically start building a mining base if there isn't one there already.

Are you using the miner you started the game with? If you upgraded the design or built your own, it may not actually have a mining module.

Well, thats a mess!
First of all I dont even have a mining module in my GC2 gold edition. And I was wondering if there should be anything on a spore ship,something like a spore gun, or something, because if there should be one(guess what), I dont have it.
And I tried the spore ship attack on a planet and(guess what) it didnt work. My best guess is that I am missing the file that contains the mining module and the spore stuff.
Its strange because I remember my ships were mining asteroid fields before I started to use the mods(Kryo's hull mod, or something like that and a bunch of other small mods).

If you are using mods, you may have inadvertently used one designed for Dread Lords that replaces gc2types.xml, where all the ship parts are defined. Try disabling mods. If you replaced any of the core files without taking backups, you'll need to reinstall.
