Ok,
I tried to do some searching on this but I'm new at this whole modding thing. I LOVE GC II but I want to make the tech vine into more of a tree. For example in order to get Phasers you would need to not only have all the laser type techs but also Hull design. I will have to look at the tech tree in depth to figure out how I want to do this exactly.

I have the original GC II with out any updates.....I know I know I sould do this but I don't have internet at home. ( long story)

So the questions are:
1) If I go into the techs and see the requirments I can just add the other necessary techs you have to have in order to get the new one.

2) If I totally mess stuff up can I "reset" the game to the original mode.

3) Any tips
