Hey,
first of: I love it. It is really much more fun, then GCII itself. I started with a large Galaxy, occasional settings and 5 races.
Here some things I believed need to be reviewed:
1. Pirates
The Pirate event was way out of measure. The Pirates arrived in mid-game with 1 Civ wiped out and one other left with 4 Planets in one system. The Pirates wiped out ALL MAJOR RACES MILITARY. Right within just 10 turns no major race had any ships worth their name left and for about 50 turns they were the ruling power. This was neither fun nor did it further the gameplay, since they couldnt conquer a planet (btw: Pirates used to have Bases...). In the end I had to redesign my ships and rally a small fleet at the corner of the map in order to start wiping the galaxy of the pirates. The other major races never recovered.
2. Freighter Bug
Those pirates would have lived forever without this bug, but it didnt feel right. The pirate fleets followed arround my freighters trying to attack them - which they couldnt due to the galactic privateer. This alone rendered 5 large pirate fleets useless. They wouldnt even attack my single "Piratkillers" flying by to their rally point..
3. Jagged Knife
I liked this event, but it came just short before the endgame.
4. Spore Ships
You might want to reconsider this design. I received it when sacking a Jagged Knife Planet and this ended the game. I put 2 planets to the task of mass producing Spore Ships with fast Warp engines. 2 other planets spit out colony ships. Within 20 turns I had conquered ALL Jagged Knife Planets and could have taken out the other civs in the same time but got bored an chose diplomatic victory. Spore Ships are totally out of control and unballanced.
5. Cure Desease/Cure Plague
Look into this. The other civs did trade ALL their tech in order to get those technologies. This cant be right.
All the best!
