GalCiv II does not run on screens with lower resolution than 1024 x 768

Hi,
I really love this game. I would really love to play it everywhere. I have a MicroPC (Sony UX 280). That device has a 4,5" Screen with 1024x600 resolution! I can use the the Prefs-File to set that resolution but it does not run correct. Some menus in the game are "pressed" over - so some keys cannot pressed . . .

Is there any chance to build in a lower resolution mode?

The lowest resolution I have used is 1024 x 768.

No, 1024x768 is the minimum supported resolution. You can set it lower forcibly as you did and it should run, but the interface will not adjust properly as you've seen. There are no plans to rework it to fit on such lower resolutions.

If you're really determined, try creating a new interface with smaller graphics. I haven't tried it, but maybe with some smaller images it will scale better?
