Greetings Senators and Overlords,
Currently I am engaged in three separate campaigns - Terran, Korath and a Custom Race I refer to as the Arrakis Imperium

. The Terran Campaign is all but done and we are in the point building phase of consolidating a decent sized nuetral empire. The Korath campaign has just turned the corner and the evil brutes are preparing to subjugate the only other empire of size, ironically the Terrans. The AI game is asmaller campaign but so far the most exciting.
Actual got a miserable corner location with nothing nearby but got 2 yes 2 precursor libraries bonuses and just couldn't resist the urge to try and use the huge researhc advanteg to try and bring the galaxy to its knees. Focused initial research on planet invasion techs and engines. I was able to blitz the home world of the closest empire (Terran) with massive troop bonuses before they could even field any defenders. Asluck would have it, Earth had a Precusor manufacturing bonus and it immediately became my manufacturing Capital. The last 2 Terran worlds fell quickly afterwards.
While this has been going on, the Thalans had expanded too much for the comfort of their neighbors and the war against them spread. We joined the fray, taking advante of our trade space station near Thala to mount a lighting assault on Thala which has thus far resulted in the addition of 3 Thalan worlds to our empire. Feeling secure in our position and growing fleet we have also attacked and conquered 2 Kynn worlds. I played attention to the other empires weapons and defense which has primarily been missile tech for both, I have therefore developed medium ships with beam weapons and missile defense.
The game is being played on the Painful setting. I like playing giant galaxies with rare stars and clusters habitable planets, 9empires and all 8 minor races. This tends to allow each empire 6-12 planets on average depending on location and keeps every ship and colony important. I like th distance between the empires as it often allowsfor development and trade before conquest.
