Having problems placings spies

Currently playing a Crippling/Large DA game with 8 opponents.

Can't seem to place any spies - have 3 available, and when I hit the palce spies button I can head into a planet screen and have a lookat what is on that planet (a nice little exploit) however I can't seem to palce any spies, despite selecting a tile with an enemy improvement on it - the 'place spy' button never becomes highlit?

Anyone else experience this problem? Is there some rule about having a ship next to the planet you wish to place the spy?

You can't use spies if u load up a metaverse DA game at the moment. Problem solved

Some tiles can't have spies on them. You can't, for instance, put spies on top of capitals and such.

We need to color code it or something.

Well,

I seem to have the same problem, I have a few spies, but I'm unable to place them on a planet to disable say a factory. Here is a screenshot...

The screenshot appears to be damaged (the bottom part will not load)--which race were you playing as?

Edit: Nevermind, it's loading now.

K. It doesnt matter what the race is. If you load a saved game that was started as a MV game at present in the beta you lose the option to place spies.

Has this been fixed in the latest beta? I loaded a saved game but still unable to place spies.

Do i need to start a new game for this to work or does it still not work with metaverse games?

You should always start new games with new versions to ensure no errors are carried over in the save file.

Can you pls confirm this has been fixed then in the new beta and it is now possible to use spies with metaverse games?

Yes, it has been fixed in the new beta. I tried it last night and it works fine with a game started as a Meta game.
