Will Dark Avatar be able to be moved to a different computer for same user?

I have a dial-up hookup at home. Slow. Eventually I will
upgrade. Right now at work, I download the
big stuff but I don't play the game there.

Will I be able to download the big file and then move
and install it on my home computer?

So long as you have SDC on both machines you should be able to use SDC's archive option to move DA home. An update to GC2 is required as well though, and you may want to do that directly at home as it's only a few megs (but if you wanted to archive and move that, you'd have to archive the entire base game).

Access to the internet (even by email if you must insist on transferring the request from one machine to another) is required for the beta.

Given that the Dark Avatar beta is going out as I type this, there maybe some confusion.

You may happily download the standalone installer updates for your base GC2 build at work, transfer to usb or whatever, install at home, and activate over dialup in a matter of moments.

There is no standalone installer for the Dark Avatar beta.

That said... you may install the DA beta at the office and then use the Archive functions in Stardock Central to create a .sdc archive file that you can copy and restore at home. You will also need http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe installed there to have a Stardock Central build that knows how to activate the build on your account info when you restore it at home.

Your home machine (per above) has Internet access, so you can activate it directly if you have your stardock.net info that your DA purchase is under on your home machine. A petty set of bytes to get if done if you had to take the time to transfer 200MB+ from the office to home.

In my case it's just a desire to not have SDC on my PC but I'll get over it and just install SDC. But I'm pretty sure this is exactly the case for Evil Stormbringer. It sounds like there is a way for him to do it, but that it's complicated. I guess this is something you don't just happen to have a write up on handy?

I guess I'll wait for him to show up on the forums himself, but I hope that he can be helped out.

I posted elsewhere but I will respond here Mumblefratz. As stated, I downloaded the expansion, copied it to My Documents from the program files. My home PC does have SDC on it, but not the very latest, which seems to have arrived just for the beta, not sure. As I said, I am not PC savvy, so all of this is trial and error for me. Hopefully it will work or else I will have to break down, install aol yet again (hopefully for the free trial) and let the comp run all night to download. A file size that big, I believe close to 250MB, will take about 7 hours on dial up, seriously.
