Gameplay Question; Invading planets and their defense?

Hello hmm after fixing my screen problem of yesterday i started playing. I quickly got facing a problem when invading planets in campaing: the transport ship just won't. i've never been able to conquer a planet in campaing so far( mission 1 drengins surrendered). In the mission two however, it will simply not let me invade it( i've done it in custom game countless times BUT the bug occured after some time..) no I tought he might surrender if i build a similar fleet next to him like in the lat game.. he got himself facing 2 military starbase and 1 influence on siloth and 1 military on xilith.. seeing as he didn'T surrender, I tryed cheats to duplicate ships. weirdly i had him TRAPPED on his two bases but yet every ship I built or copied gave him more power in his miliotary stats. i started spreading hoping to fix the problem yet nothing hapenned. i started duplicating more until his planet started shooting down a douzen of my ships( about 2/turn) which was annoying and weird as when i select my SHIPS to shoot the planet they wouldn't, and my invading ships STILL couldn't land on it. Help please?

You can't invade a planet with transports until there are no more enemy ships in orbit (if the planet is shooting down your ships, then it does have ships in orbit still). You first need to built combat vessels to attack the orbiting ships with (FYI, design your own rather than using the 'core' ships, as those are a quick path to getting stomped by the AI which *does* design its own).

Then it must have been a glitch...... I design my own ship and taske some satisfaction in it however the enemy ships had to be hidden behind the planet's image.... I had set my ships around half to sentry and half normal, hoping it would do something, but they never shot down any enemy... it showed me it still had two heavy figthers in the dock bays tho... but it always remained at 2. Help again?

Then it sounds like you just never mustered a force capable of killing them. Any chance you can post the stats of those ships, and those of your own?

AFAIK ships set to sentry/autoattack/etc will not attack ships orbiting a planet. And when the ships are in orbit, they don't show over top of the planet, but rather a shield icon is shown next to the planet indicating that it is defended.

yea just got over it... was weird actually the ship was not in orbit but it was tacked on the planet and the auto attack wouldn't get it.. i've done the mission and blah blah now i'm running into another glitch; the game just got rampat setting my thing to always click on the "Turns" button..... so actually I just got owned by the dreadlords
