Why the developer made the game -- A quote from a post he ( Frogboy )made yesterday I believe.
But at the end of the day, in our roles as evil, greedy, soul eating capitalists, our job is to make sure the game is profitable. That way, we can drive around in our gold plated rocket cars and sneer back at the people who gave us wedgies in high school. |
Actually I think they made it cause they like making games and the cash doesn't hurt either prob.
One of the biggest attractions of GC2 is the AI. It does not cheat -- however it is given economy bonus's at higher difficulty levels. The AI does not treat the human player any differently than it does the other AI players.
The game has a steep learning curve and quite a bit of depth. The campaign is suppose to help ease a player into the game and give the player a sense of the story behind the game. But the strength of GC2 is in the "sandbox" games.
The updates are all about making the game better and they do do that. Update 1.2 is a very good game and 1.3beta 2a plays good for me.
There is an expansion planned that will expand the gameplay -- for instance they are going to add more depth to espionage.
You should design your own ships. There are mods that people make for custom ships designs. Not into that but believe there are both Star Trek and Babylon 5 mods. Think if you look in the library, you can see what has been made and shared.
No multi-player in the game. You can play and post games to the metaverse -- but you can not use mods in metaverse games.
