Promlem with mini-map

I don't know if this has been reported. I am using a retail version of the game and patch 1.2.
I have had a problem with the mini-map. It occurs after gaining a planet by influence conquest using an influence starbase. Twice I have had the mini-map have the small blue box that shows where you are just reproduce itself all over the mini map and once I had a bunch of whited out areas. The problem clears if I save, quit and restart.
