Tech Trading Disable..

Is it possible to make a certain race unable to trade techs?

I'm making my own star trek mod, and it doesn't seem realistic that the borg would trade techs with anyone, i want to disable it, but just for their race.

How about disable alliances? I also don't see them alligning with any race.

Perhaps have the Borg as the Dread Lords?

i haven't actually played the campaign mode.. i'm assuming the dread lords act much like the borg?
I don't remember seeing the dread lords as a selectable race in sandbox mode, is there a way to do that as well?

i'm new at this sorry

You can't select them in sandbox directly, but you can through the Dread Lords on Parade scenario. So just overwrite the Dread Lords with the Borg and when you want to play against them just use that scenario (perhaps with the name changed to Borg Assault or something).

Dread Lords are basically at war with everyone and with a massive technology advantage. You can't trade techs or make peace, or steal techs by espionage.

ah.. ok.. that's not a bad idea!

Though, I'm still looking forward to playing as the borg, so i'll still need to find a way to do what i mentioned above, or just get over the idea that the borg could trade with people

Well, if you're playing as the Borg then you can just restrain yourself from entering the diplomacy screen.

yeah.. i guess you're right.
though, if this game ever does become available for multiplay, the the restriction would be nice.

You could disable tech trading entirely.
