Hello. I'd like to report something I consider to be a very serious bug.
I had several ships saved, and a few custom Races, from the Retail version of Galactic Civilizations II. I then installed the Galciv II version 1.1 update, and when it was finished, all of my ships and races no longer existed. In addition, the game could not load my savegames from before the update. (I'm assuming this is because the game could no longer find the race or ship configuration files)
This appears to have been caused by your installer overwriting the folders the ships and races were stored in.
I later recovered the Custom Races and some of the ships by using the System restore function in Windows XP.
I then attempted to play the game, but it locked up while loading a savegame from before the 1.1 update.
I apologize for not having the debug log, but I have un-installed the game and am proceeding with a re-install. (this time I made copies of all my ships and races into a separate folder.)
The reason I consider this "bug" (not certain it is a bug, certainly an oversight though) as a seriouds problem, is because you obviously wanted people to create and save their own ship designs.
Therefore, you did not actually want to erase whatever work they'd put into it.
If you ask, I will allso add a hardware and software profile of my computer, though I do not believe it neccesary.
Before I forget, other than that one problem, you did a wonderfull job with the Version 1.1 update. I especially like the part rotation functions of the new Shipyard, and the animated path-to-destination/ autopilot-path.
