Collector's Edition or Regular?

Big difference? Is there a way to upgrade?

Hi everyone, I have several questions:

First: What are the differences between the Collector's Edition and the Regular version of GalCiv2? How many new hulls and how much extra jewellery is there? Do most of the people that are modding use these extra hulls?

Second: Which one did you guys buy?

Third: My local Best Buy and Future Shop only have the regular version. Is there a way for me to purchase the extra stuff that comes with the Collector's Edition separately?

They made the additional content available to anyone who patches, so it doesn't really matter at this point.

They made the additional content available to anyone who patches, so it doesn't really matter at this point.

Oh, didn't know that. Sounds like a good decision to me, because it would have been a shame if only owners of particular editions could use all shipmods.

Hmm, actually I think they only made the "collectors edition" goodies available to the first run/shipped boxes. They said they knew when a box had been shipped and were going to let those people get the extras also. I don't know if this is still in effect. So if at all possible I'd get the collectors box if you can. I've seen collector box sets at Wal-Mart as recently as last week.

Retailers had the option of ording the collector box or standard box when it was first released and many didnt pay attention to what they ordered. That was the reason Frogboy gave for letting all early sales DL the extra's.

Hmm so this is only for early sales? Not for recent ones? Because when I went to the download section it asks for two serial numbers, regular one and collector's edition one....

No, from 1.0D onward the bonus content is a part of the basic game. At this point the only differences between Collector and Regular are:
1)The box
2)The Tech Tree sheet that is included in the Collector's Edition.
