Are you talking about the "Continue Game" button on the main menu? That should be functional on campaign and metaverse games, and will jsut take you back into the game that you're currently playing (ex. if you went back to the main menu from the options screen).
Just make sure you have a game started...that button will be greyed out when you first boot up the game.
