Forcing ship textures?

Is it possible?

I love shipbuilding, love it but Im stuck without ship textures because of my card (Gforce 4 MX 440)

Is there any way I can force the game to use ship textures even if the game crawls to a halt because of it? I would be very interested in knowing. Thanks.
