Could this be modded? Not sure i have ever come across anything in the XML's preventing something like a Tech Victory.

And yes guys. i'm still around, still working on the race XML's and the Stargate tile bonus's. It's not perfect and will surely be debated but it's a start...

I don't think that can be done. If GalCiv supported scripting then I'd say yes, with scripting anything can be done, or atleast faked. GalCiv doesn't support scripting, unfortunately, so it is impossible.

I do believe Storm is in the process of contacting I-Mod and getting us set up there. At the moment, once RL let's me, i am doing XML's for all our races, plus trying to work out the Gate Terminal bonus's. None of these are concrete and when i'm done i will post them for debate on what is in and what is out. I am pretty much doing every race, since with DA we are not limited to race numbers, plus i am doing some doubles, as in a race that could be a major or a minor. We can decide which later.

Well i finally got the game after hours spent fiddling with my computer files. So i saw storms message and have got the game, looks pretty cool and as one of the GWfleets big people id really like to see a sg conversion mod. Our fleet could finalyl become gamable, and that would be amazing.
We have got some great modellers over at GW and although most of our models are in sketchup we are slowly upgrading them or converting them to more impressive programs. If you are able to code them for this game then we could provide models and backstory and race s and storyline for the conversion.

There are some information you need to convert ships to GC2.

But the Ori would replace the Dread Lords, and would not be playable.

The idea is to put as many space faring civs in as is feasible. We are also considering the political side of the galaxy. Anubis, and even Sokar for that matter, was(were) not part of the System Lords. They were seperate entities that directly opposed the System Lords. That is why we wish to seperate Anubis and the System Lords.

I believe that if they can build ships, they should be included as majors. The Genii are a big force in the Pegasus galaxy, but they can't get off the ground, that makes them a minor on the GalCiv scale IMO.

While I believe more of the races proposed should be minors than what neilo is saying, I think that your list is alittle short.

the only purpose for these guys is the defeat of the Gou'ld including Anubis

i don't recall seeing any of them during the current war with the ori followers

i don't know if the wraiths could be played correctly as a race or if they should be an event maybe like the pirates


also just saying that the tok'ra should be miners not majors

maybe the nox (this is my opionion) as major if the only ship the can build is a city ship and they get a huge planetary assuilt bonus

Given the Tok'ra's covert nature, I have an idea for a compromise assuming GC2/DA allows for this:

The Tok'ra would not be exposed as a separate faction at the start of the game: If anything, they would from initial appearance to other players be competing System Lords. And of course given the divisive nature of the System Lords themselves it wouldn't appear out of the ordinary for them to directly clash with each other at the start.

In fact, the System Lords should be made up of several factions headed by prominent Goa'uld and the player can take a checkbox option of allying them with the Tok'ra in addition to picking a particular Lord.

Only when sufficient espionage has been racked up on them or they choose to Ally with another faction and choose to reveal themselves is their true allegiance exposed.

Exposed Tok'ra Lords will then rack up significant Diplomacy Bonuses with Good factions that are inversely proportionate Penalties against other System Lords and other Evil factions.

They would have most if not all the common techs and units available to the System Lords at the start, but once their Tok'ra allegiance has been exposed then the price and production time of those units double to reflect the scarcity of such equipment and the subterfuge involved in obtaining them.

One idea that just came to mind is to have the Tok'ra be a new and unique Political Party that's only available as an option for the System Lords. Membership in the Tok'ra "Party" would be kept secret from the other players and if possible be disguised as one of the other random choices until exposure.

But on the downside if the Political Party system can't be modified any further it'll result in ridiculous election time shenanigans.
