Invisible Stars and Planets on main screen w/ monday's (4/10) beta

I've been fairly free of any significant bugs throughout the betas so far...until now! Anyway, my current game has two stars that exist on the minimap but not on the main map. And the same goes for a couple of planets as well. So far, no AI has colonized these phantom worlds, so it appears that the AI can't see 'em either... It's just a little disturbing to fly right through a star that isn't there ! Hope next week's final 1.1 fixes this.

Try copying the galciv2/MetaverseData/startypes.xml file to your galciv2/Data folder.

Also, the data that caused this to happen is saved into the saved game file, so you will have to start a new game after you copy the file for this problem to be fixed.

I don't have a dubug.err either but I've experienced the same thing. I'll see a star on the mini map "surrounded" by planets like it should be. But I can't actually see the star. I can click on it and the system info, but I can't actually see the graphic. It's only happened with 2 stars on 2 different large maps, but I figured I'd just back up what the OP said.

I have seen invisible stars a number of times in the new Beta, although I don't think you can fly through them. I am still able to click them to find out the number of inhabitable planets in the solar system.

I also have the stars not showing up with the last beta...I keep thinking of the old Police song...Invisable Sun every time I notice it...lol

I'm playing a regular game, the star is there, you can't go through that spot, but it's just invisable

I have experience same problem for a normal game (have only played normal game till now).

Had
Try copying the galciv2/MetaverseData/startypes.xml file to your galciv2/Data folder.

Restart a new game. No more invisible star.
One thing to note, the startypes.xml in MeteverseData is newer than the startypes.xml in Data folder

I have also had invisible stars in the only beta-3 game I have been playing, it was metaverse.

Mine was in normal games. I copied the startypes.xml from the metaverse folder to the regular data folder, and it fixed the problem. I think that you may want to update both files for the final patch for everybody, just in case.

We'll make sure these files are ok in the next version.

In the meantime, you'll just need to copy that one file over to the other folder. Thanks.
