Deleting/Destroying a Planet!

I'd love to be able to delete colonies, sometimes when ima t war and caprure a planet, i dont want the expense of running it so cant we have some planetary improvement that blows the planet up?

Sometimes when its a close fight and i cant afford to defend or upgrade a planet, Scorched earth is the only way to go.

Or maybe let me have the option of Radiating a planet, which kills all my pop, and makes the planet uninhabitable for XX turns? Obviously only allowed to evil types

You can abandon a colony once you have it under your control--IIRC you automatically salt the earth (so to speak) when doing so, dropping the planet to Class 0 (to prevent repeated recolonizing to farm PQ events).

just went and tested it,
my homeworld was clas 10, abandoned now class 8.
class 4 planet became a class 1 planet.
wish there were a way to make it a class 0 planet. guess you could recolonize over and over again but thats not terribly effective in war time.
