I post first time in this forum and I will write about how to rule your empire in GavCivII and way to become a sole dominator.
As you know of it, Galactic Civilization 2(GavCivII) is consist of vary large sum of information and factors. This seems so much for understanding and aknoledge over time. So I made this more simpler than it looks. Lets have a look at this.
GavCivII is consists of major 3 part, that divided into this category.
I. Management of Colony.
II. Research of your Civilization.
III. War (this could be replaced by other strat like cultural, diplomay etc)
So We'll look up these part one by one.
I. Management of Colony
Constructed structure of colony divided into 3 category.
1. Factory
: this has 2 uses.
a. Hurry the production of colonization.
b. Hurry the production of military force.
2. Research Center
: this is vital to your techknological advance.
3. Etc.
: in this category theres several types of structure, like farm, entertainment or market. You will need these things right in time over game playing. ex) when your population reachs its population caps, you will need another farm. and when your approval rating is so low, you will need entertainment building. and so on.
The first and second category is vital to management of colonization. because factory makes it faster to complete your building construction, and also makes your military force grow faster. and research center gives you additional techknology advance bonus.
So you will need large sum of factory and research center. basic sequence of production buidling is like this.
Factory 3~4 ---> farm ---> Research Center
when you need something while building these procedures, you can just add it.
This procedure makes your colony complete more faster, and even more powerful production colony all over time. So keep in mind.
II. Research of your civilization
Research also divided into 3 category.
1. Welfare
: this include
a. Xeno Lab - Increases your maximum research point
b. Xeno Farm - Increases your maximum population cap
c. Xeno Factory - Increases your maximum production point
d. Entertainment - Increases your peoples approval
e. Soil Enhancement - Increases your planets habitable spaces
f. Xeno Economy - Increases your eonomic boost.
What benefit from you can grab in this category is that this research can make your civilization much more stronger in economy and also production. this is spinal to your civilization so you should tech this category first before next category upgrades.
2. Warfare
: this category divided again with 2 phases.
a. Aero Warfare
: this include
1. Weaponary - Increases your fighter's attack points
2. Hyper Drive - Increases your fighter's movement
3. Advanced Hull - Increases your fighter's maximum hullsize.
4. Miniaturization - Increases your base hull size.
5. Logistics - Makes your fleet more powerful.
b. Troops Warfare
: this include Planetary Invasion.
Some people may think that defense theory should be placed in this category. but I don't think so, unlike single campaign, normal skumish game is based on lots of latent enemies with various types of weapon. So if you research one of types of defense system, you will encounter an enemy with doesn't matches your defense system.
this could be waste. So I recommend your tactical flight focused on attack not defense except there is sole enemy.
This category seems to be obvious. These research makes your civilization much more stronger in military section. So you will need these research when you invade other colony.
3. Etc
: other research is put into this category this category usually doesn't need but you will need in time, when the right moment. like,
a. Sensor - highly developed sensor ship shows you lots of part of map.
b. Life support - You will need these thing when you travel and invade further colony.
You can only upgrade one research in a given time so you should choose among which you can choose. I recommend this steb.
Easy Welfare complete -> Easy Warfare complete -> Normal Welfare complete -> and so on....
while this steb, you can have your first designed fighter in the end of Easy Warfare research, usually at this time, I choose to invade other colonization myself so I change all of my colony turned into military production mode. this boosts your fleet complete faster. when you govern budget section, this boosted even more faster. this is required when your civilization is surrounded lots of enemy civlization.
So, thats it. if you completed these procedures, you can have anything you want what you can get from the game. I defeated my AI(Intelligent enemy) consists of 6 civlization at the same time. So techknological advance and production bonus is so important to this game. also economic boost is very important. cause your Tech points and production point is just a boxes, but your ecnomic health is what you put in those boxes. its not important that number of boxes, its important that how much you have things in those boxes.
