In my initial colonization burst only PQ15 and better. AI's don't seem to want the PQ14 planets. Depending on how well my land grab went determines if I go for PQ14's. I rarely do that. As others have stated for a range extender any PQ will do. To spread influence I will settle down to a PQ12. later, oldgamster - colonizing like a mad man with a plan

And I dont like to play on difficulty levels too far above normal.
Whether we say it is cheating or not it feels like cheating to you I would say don't do it and you wont get that cheatin' feelin' anymore!!! OK... Space bar and S does the trick. So does F9... I found the new colony I'd lost! So that still leaves ship management... later, oldgamster - thinks 3 solutions in 4 hours is good
I think you have to go to http://www.wincustomize.com/ and change your profile information there for it to synch up. later, oldgamster - thinks this might be the answer

Here are a couple ideas I think might make some things easier. Ship Management: As it stands on the Ship List View we can sort in different ways... Name, Class. What I would like to see is a tree type structure. For example if I sort by Class then all Frigates would be inder a primary branch labled Frigates and all the others as well under their respective groupings. These primary branches could be colapsed or expanded. That way if I want to deal with just my Colony ships or my Frei
Starwindz to answer how the swap featur works you select a ship in the top list that you want to stop production on and then select a ship in the second list that you want those planets to build then click swap. i.e.: you have 15 planets. 5 are building Colony ships 5 are building Constructors 5 are building Defenders you see that you do not need the Colony ships so in the top list you select Colony ships and in the second list you decide you need Troop Transports.
Thanks All!!! :) I will have to check that site out later when I have time to dig around... later, oldgamster - feeling a connection at last
I found this reference in a thread that Kit had stared for the issues ABT was having with game updates and such. I tried to follow the link but it lead to a can not find server error. Is it spelled correctly? later, oldgamster - can't be served cause I can't find the server!
I am glad this thread came up but I am disappointed at what I have read. I was hoping that the credit situation was a little different. What I had hoped for was if I had 100bc going to either Military or Social and I had one planet with something in queue then 100bc of spending would go to that planet. Next I load up 10 planets queue and do not change my spending that the 100bc would then be evenly distributed with each planet getting 10bc... Now that would be my desire for a spending s

Someone mentioned stealing Techs. I do not think Destabilization will get you any Techs. I have however spent my Espionage up to max.
Money spend on "lab space and time. building theoretical models and all that related stuf" doesn't dissapear, though. It goes to someone, who will spend it somehow. The only time money dissapears from the economy is when someone puts it into a savings account and leaves it there. (This is me speaking as someone who's taken one introductory course in economics and doesn't plan to take another.)
LOL you are right in the real world but this is a programed environment. I am so glad the starbase trade is getting flushed. I hated the fact that an alien civ would trade to my starbase nearest to them instead of hitting one of my huge super populated planets to trade... Also there is the potential for a horrible exploit there... later, a hungry oldgamster
And here is my buck 35... When you are doing Military and Social spending you are putting money into the economy. You are paying contractors to build what you need and they pay the laborforce and they inturn by beer and entertainment just like you and I do in the real world when we get a paycheck. So the money is circulating and that droves your economy up. Now when you go into research you are investing money in the research and the scientists paychecks that are sitting in lab
LOL thanks to each of you. It's a good feeling when someone else enjoys something you have put together... KitSome of the best stories come from the things you do whether it is a game or real life. I mean look at Dragon Lance. That was the real chronicles of a table top game... If you haven't put your adventures and experiences into a story you should. I tried to register with the site listed for fan fiction but couldn't get my registration through. Again thanks and it is my pl
Hey All, For those interested in reading some more fiction based on GalCiv I have written a short story based on the game I finished last night. Please read it if you are interested and I would seriously like feedback. Even if you didn't like it I want to know what you didn't like about it. How else does one improve if there is no correction given? http://www.eddiesworld.net/galciv/failedalliance.html I hope you enjoy it. oldgamster edited to correct the l
