How to manage a list of ships to build in the governor screen ?

I am just a beginner in playing this fantastic game. I explored the interface and understood most of the features, but I failed to establish a governor's ship list (governor screen, military swap tab, "Apply" button) How does it works ?

The documentation is very poor about the interface.

If somebody can help me, thanks in advance.

I fear that you aren't able to establish a gouvernor's ship list. Gouvernor are only for social projects. BTW, if you are playing version 1.13 or lower, there is a bug with gouvernor Ford allowing the AI to use his list :( .

Thanks for your answer, but I am disappointed by this lack in the game.
How can I check the version # ?

Why would you use ship governor? More militray production is different from social production:
- money is invested in specific social projet. If you
switch project, the new projet has no BC invested in but if you go back to the previous, you will see that the BC that you have already spent on it ar still here.
- for military, money is invested in the production of a ship. You choose what ship will be produced but you can switch with no penalty.

It is at the top of the option screen where you can save/load/exit the game

Regarding the 'ship queue', the game will default to building another ship of the same type. There is an 'Obsolete Ships' list on the Governor screen that allows you to remove ships that you are not interested in building (why build Battleships when you can build Dreadnaughts). Removing obsolete ships from the list keeps it at a manageable size.

If you are building Colony ships, definately do not use auto-launch. Manually launch Colony ships and don't put more than 200m people in a ship.

There are some case where you want to put more than 200m people in a colony ship: to lower population in order to increase morale.

I usually use Combat Transports to 'improve' morale LOL

But Combat Transport can only do it up to 5000m people.
Try playing a abudant galaxy and have system flipped to you with 2 planets, a class 15 and a class 23, each with 20 000 m people. Colony ship are the only fast "morale lifter". And you can redirect the people from one planet to another :)

There's also the military swap feature.  Switch all planets building star fighters to corvettes, or whatever.

Starwindz to answer how the swap featur works you select a ship in the top list that you want to stop production on and then select a ship in the second list that you want those planets to build then click swap.

i.e.: you have 15 planets.
5 are building Colony ships
5 are building Constructors
5 are building Defenders

you see that you do not need the Colony ships so in the top list you select Colony ships and in the second list you decide you need Troop Transports. Then you click Apply.

Next you decide that you build BattleAxes rather than building Defenders and Constructors. So you would select Constructors in the top, BAxes in the bottom click the button again. Go back to the top list and select Defenders and click Apply again.

Now what you end up with is:
5 planets producing Troop Transports
10 planets producing BAxes.

Hope that helps.

Good point - I don't usually have a lot of planets flipping to me - I tend to invade my neighbors to make more room for 'my' people. :D

Thanks to everebody for the help. Like Peace Phoenix, I use combat transports and colony ships to improve morale.

I discovered that Galactic exhibition gives a huge amount of money (suddenly over 9000 BC)

I just won my first huge at simple level. :D
