A nagging question that I have had concerning screenshots: If GCII doesn't support taking screenshots from within the game then why is there an option for the screenshot format in the options screen? Every thread that I have seen on screenshots states somewhere that you must use a 3rd party program for getting screenshots. (FRAPS is the most commonly suggested.) I'm confused! <img src="http://

So, can either of the two events happen to the human player or are they reserved only for the computer players? It would be an interesting development to be in last place and have this happen to you. Then it would be a matter of keeping everyone else off your back until you "mutated" enough to wipe them out.

I usually don't have a military built up for attacking, just defense of my planets. What I am looking to find out is: How much time do I have to build up enough to attack if I have very little military? There is a mega event where a race finds some precursor technology that gradually raises all of their stats. You are informed that you must defeat them or eventually they will be too powerful to conquer. I have questions about how this works. Are all of the race's attributes raised by a certain percentage each turn? Are they raised one at a time or simultaneously? How much time do I have to take them down before they are too powerful? Clicking the startup icon for Dark Avatar (DA) brings up a small window that contains a button named "Switch Chapter". This button switches the game from Dread Lords (DL) (vanilla GCII) to the Dark Avatar expansion. If you are thinking of pre-ordering Twilight of the Arnor and joining the beta then you will need to back out of the previous games and click the separate startup icon for TA. After installing expansion packs you have the ability to easily go back and forth playing any episode that you wish. If your OCD gets the best of you then you can even have multiple games going at the same time. (Meaning that you can play one to a point, save it, then play another episode for a while, save it, then switch back.) I will warn you though... In the shipyard, the Stinger II description has an incorrect spelling. It reads "More Missles" (missing the second 'i').

Playing as Yor: I researched Stellar Streams and it didn't give the +10 to my ships after I completed the research. In the past (DA) I think I remember that any tech giving +10 speed to ships immediately gave all of your ships 1 extra sp/week. During this game I think that I saw the increase on my Flagship but none of the colony ships, miners, or constructors increased their speed at all. <img src

During my latest TA game one of my ships must have been trying to go out of it's possible range. I kept getting the "We cannot travel that far..." message. The problem is that I couldn't identify the ship causing the message. Would it be possible to set focus on the ship causing the message?

I am currently playing as the Korath. The Ion Cannon is listed as a Missile weapon in the shipyard. In the tech tree, it is correctly listed under the mass driver branch. I am currently researching the Pulse Cannon tech to see if it lists correctly in the shipyard.

Within "My Games" there are 3 folders for GalCivII games, one for the original game, one for Dark Avatar, and one called GC2TwilightArnor. Under the GC2TwilightArnor folder there is another "Dark Avatar" folder. Should that be there?

Most, but not all, of the mining base graphics disappeared from my map mid-game. It made it look as if there were resource lines coming from empty asteroids. They only reappeared after being upgraded with my mining ship. I tried to get an in-game screenshot but I must have hit the wrong key or lost the location where it saved to.
