Wow!! I just finished the first tutorial. I am so happy I bought this!! It is amazing; and to think it is a beta. Back to the game....
Well, I just could not wait any longer. 25% there...
Mascrinthus, Terl, did you guys try turning off show prerelease and refreshing XML as noted above? I just ran the update on my laptop and it worked without any problem. Thanks. I tried the method above but it did not work. I just went ahead uninstalled and reinstalled and all is well with the world
I am getting the same error as Mascrinthus. Is there something wrong with the download?
I had the same PC. You have pci slots. You can always get your system specs from the Dell site based on entering your service tag # from the sticker on your computer. It would also outline this in your docs you got with the pc. Dell has them in pdf if you misplaced them. Now, the fun part. If you shop around you can get a pci video card that will work. I had a geforce FX5200 that was < $100 a year ago. I was running GC2 with 1GB of ram and the fx5200 (with 256MB on it - it was ma
Nuh uh. It was supposed to be about multiplayer GCII on a console, with carriers and tactical combat implemented. Oh, and the carriers would have to be able to carry your mulitplayer buddies' ships into tactical combat against a terror star. I win I will most definitely give you that one for the reply... you do win. Now I shall go back down into the dung
It's best to finish a game before updating, it could cause crashes and various other problems otherwise. I don't know, I've never tried it. You should try it and see if something cool [errrr catastrophic] happens No, not a good idea. Always finish your game, then update.
Steam does a similar thing right? And I have no problem doing that, since they have they multiplayer facet to their games . Fine for you to go along with this scheme, but not for me. I think this is the essence of the problem. It is okay for Steam because they have multiplayer. It is not okay for Stardock I infer from his comments, becaus
If you have trouble, try turning off anti-aliasing. CariElf is right. I did turn the AA off. Looks great and runs great!
I have a FX5200 on a Dell Dimension... Game runs just fine. You have twice the RAM (I have 512MB) so you should be good to go.
It might be worthwhile to play with the unofficial patch Indeed it is! Look on the forums for the "Vanilla" "Strawberry" or "Tropical" mods. These user created mods add to the game and add greatly to the game. Remember though--MOO3 is NOT like GalCiv at all.... not even close. It is a completely different style of game.
MOO3 takes a completely different mindset. It is not really designed for those who want to micromanage their empire, but is tailored more toward someone who wants to be a galactic emperor and delegate duties out. Their are shortcomings but there is a very active community at: [link="http://www.ina-community.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=224"]http://www.ina-community.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=224">Link There are some fan made fixes that make the game more p
Yes, I played. It is absolutely gorgeous and fun for just a short time. It gets tedious quickly.
Based on the thousands of players who responded, tactical battles are something people want. This is something we would definitely look at seriously in a sequel (not an expansion). Note it said "in a sequel". Rant and foam on dude...
After the first few battles played out for the sake of novelty, I'd just start hitting the AUTO BATTLE button rather than bogging things down to such a micro-crawl. Absolutely true. That is what I always do in SE4 too. Gormoth is right too about the PITA it was in MOO2. I think more complex diplomacy would be the best.
Not any easy way....You would have to install stardock central on your pc at work. You would then have to install and archive the whole game. Then you'd burn a cd and using stardock central on your home pc you could install the archived copy. Stardock central actually would download and install the update. Unfortunately, you cannot just download the patch until it goes final and is added to the downloads section.
I voted no. I have no interest whatsoever in playing multiplayer games. Even when multiplayer is built into a game I do not use it. I enjoy the metaverse though and have even back to GalCiv 1.
Well, I think you may need to find another game to satisfy that need to control your ships in battle. I think most folks like this the way it is.
Are you using stardock central for the updates? It sounds as if you may not be so then the next question is have you registered a character with the metaverse? I believe you had to enter the key then. You can go to stardock and sign in and click to have your codes sent to you. If you are using stardock central you can get the code by clicking the registration info in the right of bottom taskbar.
SlyRik.... did you check the link from post number 3 (three above yours)? I think that may solve your problem.
If it is a european copy check here: Link
I tend toward the good choices also. I like trying to win with little or no military.
ThanksLuminae! That is a great resource. I happily do not have any of those games (though a couple I was interested in before but heard they had Starforce). Dang it, though, I wanted HOMM5... Oh well, if it has Starforce, I won't buy....
