Okay then.... I always like the sweeping statements and the diatribes against Stardock and then seeing these... There is nothing wrong with the computer, drivers or software. <TD class="mb-Body-Quo

Do you drop the AA using the game or using the geforce config tool on the desktop? In the game settings... I turned the AA off and it cleared up all my video issues. Game still looks amazing. I have a geforce fx5200.

Achillus: Please do not take offence.... I was generalizing about the "we want it like MOO2" and did not mean it to seem as if that were the essence of your argument...I did not think that. I see it much as SrGalen does, as another thing to manage. I do well enough keeping track of what I have. I don't want to worry about where my leader is on top of what I already have. Sometimes the

Rise of Nations left my hard drive a while ago. For me, I still love Civ 2 Anyway, I am not opposed to any new ideas. I guess my real opposition is in trying to make the game conform to what folks liked in MOO2. This is how these subjects tend to be brought up and many times the suggestions star

My only argument, and perhaps it might not make sense, is that I just do not like it. I did not really like MOO2, I got annoyed with the leader aspect. It is just not a feature I like. I want to run my colonies. I never used ministers in Space Empires either. I guess the other part of it, is I am tired of hearing everyone want to mold every new space 4x into MOO2. It just got worse after the fiasco of MOO3 (Yes, I wasted $ on that). That was not what the fans wanted so some try

Excellent I will check back on and off to see how it is going. Feel free to ask. This community is really great and the devs are wonderful. I don't know if you are into it, but Stardock makes some great desktop customization tools also. Check out their Windowblinds and Object Desktop software. I bought them too once I tried them... I believe they even used one of them, desktop x,

You might want to try Gamestop.com. I just checked their site and they are still taking preorders for it. Just a quick note---Gamestop owns EBgames.... the final merger will happen soon (my son works for ebGames).

Good to "see" you too! Yes, it is the "old" Terl--in more ways than one...I made the old half-century mark a few months back I will have to look into the Korean movies. We have been watching some French ones (our latest was Le dîner de cons) We need the subtitles, of course, but what a great film! My wife and I laughed so hard during most of the movie. We use Netflix and have found many

(sorry for the portuguese here but I couldn't resist) No problem. Nastavnik is a good guy. I was in the same empire with him in the original GalCiv. What little bits I could guess at, it sounds as if you have not given up

Adragal--I would give CariElf's ideas a try. I had to uninstall and reinstall SDC once before. I would also try her link to clear the temp directory. She really is quite the expert here. She also will not give up I can definitely understand your frustration....been there before with things. Believe me, the game is worth the effort. Keep us posted.

3) We don't control the Internet. Our long term conquest plan does involve taking control of it all. But...but....why? Everyone worldwide could switch to Stardock Central....and then Object Desktop on all pc's....muahahahahahah

I do not think you should wait a week. Have a look at the thread I cited. Maybe something as simple as selecting a different server will do the trick. I hesitate asking this and am only doing so as I've seen it before-- you have enough disc space and such, right? As I read your frustration it seems to stop at the same % and you have tried multiple times...if this is true perhaps there is another issue. I would check the thread I cited above. Try the download again. If all goes w

Hello again, Adragal. First, have you checked this thread: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=101795 It has useful tips for trying different servers and answers some common issues. As with all things computer, it does help to be as specific as possible as to error messages and such. Have you tried the download again today? I know yesterday would have been quite busy. As Nastavnik said, all is well when CariElf shows up <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc

Sorry you have not had a good experience so far. Stardock is actually quite good at support. I can only assume that it is a bit frenzied at the moment due to the release yesterday and I am sure the ramp up to release was just as hectic. I did scroll through a few pages of posts looking for some you may have started but I was unable to find them straight away. Perhaps if you could outline some issues we may be able to get you answers, from other players, or even Stardock folks.

I too fought with MOO3. I then discovered GalCiv. Great, great game. It was good enough to get me to preorder GalCiv2...the first game I ever preordered. Iplayed through the beta. I believe you would enjoy it. Yes, it is intuitive and easy to learn but will also keep you well immersed as you learn various techniques and tactics. Also, the community is one of the best I have seen and Stardock is amazing. I have not found such a level of support before from a software company. I
