And, because I can't edit my post, let me say: I like the modding, I like the combat changes, I like the various other enchancements, and I like the bug fixes. Go Go Gadget Stardock.
Consumed Crustacean
Okay, I havn't checked up on the site for awhile, and now you go and pull this on me? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!? Though seriously, it's incredibly slick looking. Good work so far on this latest patch, I look forward to playing it long into the night
You can't modify the AI. You can change their race's attributes all you want to make custom enemy races, all you have to do is edit the Raceconfig.xml
Higher quality planets bestow morale bonuses and such, though. In my last game, a random event went and pushed my homeworld up to PQ 30. The Yor still crushed me like a bug, but it was nice while it lasted.
Consumed Crustacean - I do believe in evolution and natural selection. I think natural selection is also very reasonable. But there are people (scientists too) who argue against macroevolution and i am still open for their ideas too. That's why i say it's debatable. Microevolution is very difficult to refute as I say. - You are spot on though when saying that creation
Crap, I actually said AWAX. I think I was just imitating the guy above me. Please don't hate me
Wasn't in the manual, it was a later change. I just make AWAX ships that hit the limit, then put on an engine or two and a few life support systems. They're cheap and fast that way, so I can make up for the limit with numbers.
Fast writes probably shouldn't be enabled anyways. Contrary to popular belief, they don't literally make the card faster (though they do improve stability on 9600s, and pretty much only 9600s). I'd guess that this is a heat thing. My 9800 Pro seems to overheat pretty easily, and because of the crappyness of my case I have to crack open a side and point a fan in.
- macroevolution, the idea that one species can change into another (versus microevolution, which is the change within that specie) is still debatable. human coming from ape or horsefly becoming horse is in this category. there are many evidences supporting it, but still not conclusive. one thing to remember is that macroevolution, if it's true, happens on a very large tim
Don't think it was so much the lag as the pure cheese.
I've seen the same thing with the Yor becoming good.
Sorry to say that, but what cakruege said earlier is true. I don`t know about other countries, but here in Germany EULAs aren`t worth the paper they are written on. I can agree to whatever i like in an EULA and am not legally bound by it. So that means, if a game is published in Germany i can always resell it and whatever is said in an EULA is void. If you
also side note, change your font, go with somehting lighter to go with the background ie. don't adjust the colour at all and let it go to white. Coloured text is perfect for only one thing: signaling people that your post should be skipped.
You're probably fully in your legal right to sell and purchase used video games (see the Wikipedia article: First-sale doctrine ), though there is confusion around this. However, Stardock is also within their rights to uphold their own EULA and deny support to those who violate it. If you're buying a used copy of the game, be sure you can get the other person's Stardock account info or don't buy it. Tribes 2 was simliar, th
The game seems to occasionally auto-turn for me as well, despite it being disabled. This mostly (or only?) happens after loading a save game.
I haven't achieved a conquest victory in my 1.1 yet, but the video for it was there in the previous versions. If that's anything.
4) Ongoing tribute. In GalCiv 1 you could ask people to pay you a small increment over multiple weeks. This could be part of negotiated deals (i.e., I'll give you Stellar Cartography for 2bc per turn for 20 turns). At times this was good, but in the end it was more trouble than it was worth. It's like lottery winners - everyone wants the one lump sum and not the grad
As of 1.1 beta 4 and onwards, I'm not longer able to beat the AI on tough consistently. Or at all, so far. Good stuff.
I have been waiting for this to happen, personally I think it would rock (though not necessarily if it happened to me).
I use a Pepto Bismol colour.
You could still mod the game, you just had to directly edit files in the directory. The mods folder just lets you keep a clean install. I'm thinking the poster may be lamenting the lack of scripting or the number of hard-coded options. Regardless <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
Outdated video drivers can cause the issue too, even if they don't exhibit it on the unpatched version. Don't generally have to reboot after install on Linux
Did you go to this website and follow the directions to a T ? The only concievable way that this game might work is if you get off the 2002 drivers and up to some modern ones.
Ummmm. You can be an good civ, but with massive amounts of ships. I don't see any restriction on that. The reason that everyone attacks the evil is simple -- they're evil. Evil civs get bonuses, especially towards military power, so they need to be balanced out some way. And they're evil. The Ferengi aren't evil, they're neutral/greedy. They don't go tossing their citizens into death furnaces when fuel is low, but they don't stick their neck
There's a good point, he never said exactly why it started "working" again in the first place.
