I uninstalled everything and reinstalled everything and TA seems to work now. This meant redownloading everything again wihich is somewhat time consuming.

My old computer died on me (sniff) and I was forced to purchase a new computer with Vista Home edition (32 bit) installed on it. I downloaded Impulse, downloaded and installed the GalCiv 2 games. I tried to play TA but it crashed to the destop everytime the Stardock intro was playing. I cannot find a debug report to post. Any suggestions would be apprecciated. I have very few games that hold my interest. GalCiv2 has passed the replayability test time and time again. I do not want to lose this
I gotta say that I love the idea of planetary governors. For the most part, I saves me a ton of time in the early parts of the game when the colony rush is happening. Land on a planet, enable the PG, move on to next planet, ect. I love the fact that when I research something like farms, I just add the farm to my planetary goverrnor and TADA, the planets build cues update automatically, sort of. For arguements sake we will say my PG cue is factory, factory, starport. Say I research Manufa
I'm having the same problems. It's been 24 hours and I still can't get the latest build. It says the file is unavailable. I did try switching servers but no luck.
I've played 2 immense galaxies now and this happens to me as well. In my sceneario the game locks on one planet and will not allow me to move around the map. I can zoom in and out, click on the planet and enter the planet screen and go to various planets from there. But when I leave that screen, I'm still stuck on the original planet it locked on.
What would I like to see? Some stronger governor choices to help ease micromanagement. Perhaps a planet governor could set up specialized planet (industry/economy/political/balanced). IMO this would be a godsend for those times when you get lots of planets in a turn (colony rush / massive invasions). A global governor would be nice too. (Tell every planet to build a fusion plant). I have fantasies of being able to select multiple planets and give them a global order. (This planet and this plane
Actually I got it to work. I got this idea that the game was trying to run with maxed out graphics under the old drivers so what I did is set the graphics to ultra low quality. THEN I installed the latest drivers. I was then able to get into the game, cranked the graphics back up to max and I am happy to say that my DA addiction is once again being seen to. I gotta say that I am really impressed with your response time to my posts. Now I gotta investigate this decimilization thing. Any chance t
I hope this link to the picture works... I had antialiasing turned off when the picture was taken.

Ok. I found a newer driver but not the latest. I can get into the game but I am still experiencing some graphic anomolies. If I could figure out how to put a picture here I could show you.
I was playing a saved game when I noticed that the graphics were screwing up a bit (some weird colors on zooming out, I also saw what looked to be vertices sparkling ) I figured I look to see if my video drivers were up to date. Sure enough I found some new drivers for GeForce 7900GS card. I downloaded the forceware 93.71 build and installed it. I rebooted and tried to play DA but only received a black screen after it was launched. I tested some
DA is ruining my life. When I should be spending quality time with my wife and kids, I find myself planning the decimation of customized races I'm playing against. When I'm not doing that, I'm deep into a HTML editor modding my game. My friends feel abandoned and my fish are starving to death. Gotta go cause I think I can get one more turn in before I pass out from sleep deprevation. I wish I never bought this game.
Easy fix for this is to rename your planets as you colonize. Also gives you a way to track progress and sort your planets in the colony list by stage of devolopment using an alphabetic order. You can then see by the names in the colony manager which are new. I have used this practice before but there are many times when I gain a pile of plan
I like HUGE galaxies. Lots of planets to explore. Gives the ai plenty of time to expand. And it makes for some pretty epic battles. However it can get very cumbersome making the right planets produce the right things at the right times. Or say the ai's are warring with each other and one of the races surrenders and gives me their planets only I can't tell which new planets I got because I already have 35 colonies and now I have forty and can't figure out which planets i didn't have before. This games rocks! I was still playing moo2 off and on until GalCiv2 came out and I haven't looked back. I have no complaints about the game at all just a couple of annoyances. One is that my empire's production tends to be dynamic to suit what is happening at the time and it tends to get cumbersome to have to set the production on each individual planet to maximize my turns effiency. For example say it's peace time so I want these planets from this system to produce constructors and autopilot to
