Baron, I use the map editor every day. What happens when you choose custom map at the start up menu for the game? As you scroll down, thats where they should be.

I am playing on an immense map with uncommon stars. There is a lot of space void. As luck would have it, 2 PreCursor Rangers were found by computer races. I purchased both of them. (Yeah, that's realistic.) Anyway, the pirate event happened. They are everywhere. I sent both Rangers out on autoattack. They are completely decimating every pirate fleet they encounter. I have literally resigned the 2 ships to "clean up" duty. I have been
Thank you.
OK, please "dummy" your response down for me. I followed most of what you said. When hitting the control shift G, the screen says..."map saved successfully". It has to be going somewhere?!? When i open the map editor, it is not in there. I don't have any idea where to look. I have followed the path in the map editor window, but no luck. Any ideas?
I activated my cheat codes to save game maps. I noticed two problems with the map editors. First, I can't include custom opponents in a custom map if I'm playing a custom race myself. I always do. Second, and this is strictly "eye candy", the zero class planets are all brown, barren looking planets when you use the custom map. There is no variety. None of the gaseous looking, ice covered, or moon looking planets appear. It becomes a galaxy of Earth-ty
I tried to download the Federation ship pack at the library. The intructions read: "Simply unzip files (except for the ShipCFG folder) to their appropriate folders in C:\documents and settings\my documents\my games\GC2Twilight arnor\ Now for the Ship CFG folder: Do not overwrite your ship CFG folder! Take the files provided in the pack and copy to: C;\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\Ship CFG" Here's the problem...I us
Thank you. I read something in a post about a Krynn "Interstellar Expansion" and a Torian "Enhanced Adaption." Any idea wht these are?
Can anyone list the individual planet improvement techs? I know of the three terraforming techs, plus weather zenith and biosphere modulator. What else is out there? Someone posted you can take a PQ1 or 2 up to PQ12 or 14 using all the techs. Thanks in advance.
Well, I played an 8 hour session on Saturday. I tried adjusting the settings. I maxed out computer usage and I moved the Drengin from max evil to half way between evil and neutral. Finally, It made all the difference. They dominated the game. They had twice as many systems as any other race, ( the closest second was the Yor who I also used this approach with.) Early on I established an economic treaty with them and recieved 2500 BC each turn. I'm sure
I came up with a decent, yet fairly lame solution. I make a custom map and give the evil races more colonies to start. It doesn't make that much of a difference, but it helps. For example, in my current game, I have played for a week or so, reached the end of the tech tree, and the Drengin still exist. They are a minor player though. They control maybe 5 sectors while the Torian control 1/5 of a huge map. I never noticed until I read this post...the good ra
Thank you for responding. I took a look at the TA editor. I simply don't understand it. Is their a tutorial anywhere? Thanks again.
Can anyone tell me how to create a custom tech tree? I use a custom race and would like to customize the tech tree. Thanks.
I have been enjoying creating maps on ToA. I started creating custom races/opponents to use. I can find no way to include the custom races AS opponents in my custom maps. Surely there is a way to do this? Can anyone help? When designating homeworlds on the custom map, there is no option available for the created races. The option to designate "custom homeworld" allows me to use my own custom race. However, if I use this option more than once, I begin
I am trying to learn how to use the map editor. I have successfully installed one of my created maps. Here is the problem...no matter how many times I start or restart, I do not get any bonus tyles on my home world. Can anyone make a suggestion? Is there any way to control bonus tyles?
Can anyone give me a heads up on where I can get information on the map editor that comes with Twilight of the Arnor. I have been experimenting with it. I have a fair idea how to use it. I have several questions: 1)My main question is how do I put it in the game? How do I use the finished map? 2)I saw no place to choose game otions such as minor races, victory conditions, etc. 3)Does the "tile offset" when editing a planet refer to bonus t
Thank you. The posts explained it to me. I want to learn to play this game. I have been hooked on MOO2 for 14 years. I honestly haven't found a game I was excited about until this one. Thanks again.
Can anyone help me activate the cheats. I have Windows Vista, and have clicked on the desktop icon. I click on "Properties", and add the word "Cheat" to the end of the target string. When I click apply, it keeps saying "The name specified in the target box is not valid." "Make sure the path and file name are correct. Any ideas?
Can anyone explain how to activate the cheats for Gal Civ 2,(not the expansion), in Windows Vista? I have opened the desktop icon, clicked "properties", and added Cheat to the end of the target string. It keeps telling me "the Traget file is not valid." "Make sure the path and file name are correct." Can anyone help here?
