The resolution is 1280x1024 as you see the "Full Screen" button is in wrong location to say the least

1. Ability to "upload" race image when starting custom game from game setup screen. (I know you can "patch" the game images but we need simple method with built-in resize and format convertor) 2. Ability to "upload" player/avatar image when starting custom game from game setup screen. 3. Ability to copy ship design or create a new ship design based on "template" This needed mostly because core desig
Basically the info displayed on ship upgrade screen is incorrect. Here is a scenario: 1. I have Defener (predefault) class ship. 2. I created my own design with small hall,2 lev2 lasers and 1 armor and 1 basic supply. 3. I selected "Defender" ship and hit upgrade buttn from main interface (middle bottom of the screen), then selected my new design created at (2) as upgrade target. The problem is in
Small update on 1 (no next turn button) which is major problem. First exiting the game completely and loading the same save allowed me to continue. Second, got it another time, this time it seems to be related to the fact that I "doubleclicked" on next turn button.
From "Settings" menu I exited by hiting "Load/Save" this disaperared mouse , it returned after I Alt-Tabed and back but then message about "restart" poped up (I changed Res) and after hitting "Quit" got CRD
Yes , but this will affect the logo for entire race. Also it's not that convinient , I am programmer so for me it's not a problem but I think for general user it would be much "nicer" to have "browse" button in game creation screen that could import (and resize if needed) any image. As an option same thing with leader "face" too btw. And don't forget option (that a bit harder to implement I guess) to put imported logo on ships in fleet combat.
Well it's very minor and I probably missed the train already but one of the things I would like to see is ability to use player's own logos. Just an image (.png, .jpg,.bmp ...) you could load when starting a game that will appear on all your screens (and hopely ships) in game instead of default race logo. I believe it's easy to implement and will add some very positive "feeling" into a game , such small things make an "athmosphere
One of the unpleasent things I remember from playing GC1 was that UI very easily ovverun you even if you play on easiest level. Later of cause I managed to to "adjust" and scored some vectories on hardes levels but this almost caused me at some point to drop the game (and for one of my friends did caused). You see usualy when you set for "Very easy" you expect easy introductional walk crashing everything and everyone , testing bui
Well guys , It's may be a bit too late now but playing GC1 once more I recalled another thing that anoyed me a lot in in and I hope to see "fixed" in GC2. Basicly it's the fact that your allyes give you ships. Pazeled what's wrong with it ? After all free ships is good, right ? - Well , not , not when you out of money to sustein them
Well I just started to play the game in 1200x1024 resolution with x4 AA using NVIDIA 6800GTX card and latest drivers. And I have to say that some graphics images used in cut sceens look bad - like low res images "blown" to high resolution (you get simular efect if you try to stretch 640x480 .BMP to be background in 1600x1200 mode in Windows. Example: first anomaly detection screen, the engine of starship looks to "pixelized" or better
I know the game is not completed yet but tooltips are missing in many places even on pain screen. But especially in all game creation screens, I preffer to know for example what "small galacxy" means and so on.
Well after ship can not detect any more anomalies it gives a message - that's cool addition. However if later you double click on ship and try to make it go again while still no anomalies around the checkboxs just disapear and no message given. After that if you close the ship commands dialog you get "can't see any anomalies" messages as many time as you clicked on "autosurvay" button earlie - this is bug. Btw: a bit unrelate
I hope it's not too late But I was thinking about "flagship" ship . As far as I know it does nothing in current game just a name on the first ship you have. I was thinking of another idea - to be able to "assign" flagship. Such ship would have combat bonuses , don't take fleet points and destruction of it would lower morale for some number
I noticed that you have to uninstall Beta3 before upgrading to Beta4 after that many of the bugs I reported just stoped to happen. I believe the issue related to the people using TotalGaming (like me) and happens because changed program file - before game was installed into "TotalGaming.net" folder now it installs into "TotalGaming" folder. So using old shortcut run some strange mixed bread <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2
I noticed that some areas are still show "fog of war" on minimap (colored in "undescovered" grey) even if you moved ship (in my case ColonyShip) there by default . But if I enable ship view (ship button above minimap) on Minimap it start show not only ships but "missing" areas too. And another thing , I am not 100% sure so I am not making separate thread but it seems like minimap positions are off from real positions near the bord
Well I am not sure if it's a bug software or UI design bug but I have a lot of problems removing things in ship design vew when creating new design . Mostly it's a problems with selecting things I wish to remove on ship view but sometimes the "Remove" button just wan't work at all. Actually I thinkj there is also logical error with selecting things on ship design view - if you click on the item (on ship) you never know if it will select
Well I am not sure what exactly wrong (what programers intended) here but something is Let's say I have a planet without Spaceport (new game) and try to build a shop - I can't do it from Planet interface (Star map, planet selected) but I can select it from shipyard interface (button on main screen) but it does not build anything .
Well it's a bit hard to explain , but let me give an example: 1. I send (rightclick on star map) Colony Ship toward some point on the map. 2.In GalCiv1 and Beta3 that ship aftter reaching the destination would become "available" (centered on it waiting for next command and such). 3.But in Beta 4 it just "sits" there "busy" so there is no easy way to find it and to know that it reached destination <img src="http://images
Well I have rather powerfull computer with GeForce 6800GT card but each time I enter shipyard screen I see the colony ship there "jumps" several times instead of rotating smoothly , and after that rotates OK.
As the topic says , when UI captures my planet I get "String not fouynd message" .
In "talk with alian" diplomacy screen you have a few "options" like "viewscreen" and such in drop down box. There text strings contain '\n' character at the end and obiously do not located on new string as it should.
I had a poor game , had 1 planet , only default ship and such , all the others was way better but in all (GNN?) reports I was reported as 1st place (most powerfull civ and such).
On the aftergame (statistic) screen text for buttons misaligned
Well it's crashes sometimes on start after you selected race and such and hit "done" then you see the progres window when it generates a world and it crashes. It MIGHT be related to clicking on the screen during that time. Can send entire log if needed but here is last lines of debug.log : Debug M
You can trade resources btw , it does not have to be "usless" rice and cows only . P.S.: now I know why Beta4 was delayed
