If you took away Oblivion graphics and such, it is a dumbed down console port. MW was longer and more in depth. Oblivion is not a very long game are. It is about 1/4 the size of MW. Oblivion does have a better lockpicking and persuasion minigame. But for everything a step forward, a huge step backwards. It definitely was made for the console gamer. I give it a 8/10 for a fun ADVENTURE game with some RPG elements. Without all the hype...and living off the fra

There is a free standing no activation download of the 1.1beta finally released right now in downloads section. No Stardock involved. I just downloaded it 25 megs and patch my game. Have you tried that? About activation that confused people the 'O' and the '0' look the same.

So did mine from Wal-Mart CE, but there was still other minor upgrades to be had from Stardock Central to movies and such CE extra ship dress up components for eye candy. You have to make an account to receive the updates. There is no stand alone download for it. It is a bit laborious, but once you are done, you are done forever. Then just click on update once in a while to see if anything new has come along, such as the beta 1.1

It does but not so obvious. If you ask for something and have nothing to offer to trade, the AI wil evaluate your military strength and will reply "You are too weak to make demands of us" if the AI percieves you as weak. As for it being logical, that is another story.."see this Stellar Convertor hanging over your head..."

It seems to cost ALOT to upgrade a simple laser to a laser II. It would be cheaper to buy a new ship! Am I missing something? I only had *one* ship of a class (10 hitpoints 50% ability trait). I wanted just a basic small upgrade but it would cost me 500 BC. I am playing on easy 'fool' AI to learn the game mechanics.
