Ufff. Just finished my first game - lost it, damned Torians - but wow, what a game that was. Never enjoyed loosing so much! You know, when playing GalCiv1 I used to be quite cool and detached... but with GalCiv2, I get much more emotionally involved, because everything feels much more epic and personal , primary because of the ship design feature (yeah, I'm one of those guys who sp
Yellow Sign
Go to the Galciv-directory, look for the file prefs.ini. open it with a text editor, look for the line 'fullscreen=0' and change it to 'fullscreen=1', that should reset it to fullscreen mode.
Yes. There are some problems with non-US-versions of Windows2000 but even there is an workaround. That aside: Yes, the program doesn't discriminate against any nationality.
the ability to remove victory conditions in game Naaa, far to exploitable. "The Torians are close to cultural victory? Oh, let's just remove this condition..."
Okay, I'm still a bit confused (even after reading the manual and watching the tutorials) about this particular point, so any clarification from Stardock would be great! What I don't really understand is how the race abilities vs. costum abilities system works: - When I select a race during game setup, it has some pre-assigned abilities and some leftover points to assign
Game is running smooth, great release Stardock. But, I've got a bit of a problem understandig the race ability thing. For example, when I pick the humans, I got several bonus points and 4 points left to spend on abilities. But when I spend them, some of my other boni (Diplomacy) vanish. Is this intended? Does that mean, when we customize
It is allowed (that's one reason why Stardock rules). Had GalCivI installed on several computers (my machine at home, my laptop and my computer at the office *cough*), all using StardockCentral, worked flawlessly. Same for GalCiv2 - allready had the beta on two different machines.
But...hey, in germany it will be 9.00 am when the game is released Think you got the conversion wrong - if they release it 1500 / 3PM EST, it's 2100 / 9PM here in Germany. So yeah, we have to wait until the evening. (Which doesn't bother me because I have to work until then anyway, but ohhhh... take wednesday of? So tempting.... <img src="smile
Oh yeah, if you're at war with them, sometimes they'll laugh at you and saying they're surrendering to XX to basically spite you. Oh my god. Bastards. I allready see myself yelling at the monitor.
I had the same thing as monoxism and YumCimil - after auto-updating StardockCentral to 2.29a, GalCiv2 wasn't there no matter what I tried, but after I uninstalled SDC an installed it from scratch - bingo, everything is fine and I can download.
Good point, Phoenix. Well, the influence boundary still gives an indication about where enemy territory is (since it is centered around the colonies), but would be rather unprecise because influential races would be percieved as a larger threat, even if their military is weak. So, just checking how close the route comes to enemy planets probably would be more accurate.
