Good/evil has never been a setting at the start of the game, even in Galciv1. That's by design.

The solution to your economy going in the dumper is to just not build anything on that planet. Then you only pay maintenance. I always just focus on research and not build anything--I _always_ need research. The solution in DA for the upgraded factories is to select the "All" tab on the buildings screen, then you can build Basic Factories on up. What *IS* a problem, though, is a long-standing bug when upgrading factories (or any building, for that matter). You can cli
You shouldn't be able to invade a planet you cannot inhabit.
Ooooh BUG BUG BUG BUG BUG!!!! Choose Thalans, start game. Select Factory and click "Buy". The cost is 690bc. Now, double-click on factory and select the factory from the Build Queue. Cost is 144bc.
Is there a way we can get this available for download? I don't want to design pretty ships, but they're all starting to run together.
I just re-installed and I'm getting tiles on my starting planet about 75% of the time. Must have been the poor internet connection I had the first time I downloaded. However, I did notice the Super Hive factories are regular price when you try to purchase them. Is that right?
I'm hearing mixed messages about the planet tiles. I'm not getting starting planet tiles, kryo's getting starting planet tiles, and 10kLakes isn't getting ANY planet tiles. What's going on there?
The only starbase resources I don't sweat it on are the reds and the purples (i.e. military and research). The others are critical in my mind. And if I have to build a constructor anyway, may as well do it sooner rather than later. I can have my home planet building constructors while my outlying planets build colony ships. I am, however, heavily influenced by whether I later intend to go to war with competitors or not.
Just remember one thing guys... you all can remember the 'nerfing' of certain things based on user 'complaining' can't you? Be wary of what you wish (or bitch) for! Yep, Torians were too powerful at one point in DL. But not now.
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed in the rebalancing of the AP costs (or the lack of it). The only change that seems to be made was needlessly nerfing Pop Growth, and needlessly nerfing the Torians. The Torians were not the best race even in the beta. And then, like, Trade Routes: 3 points for a trade route?? That's a holdover all the way from Galciv1.
I kinda like the cookie-cutter races being better than the custom races. In DL the custom races were clearly better, and I ended up playing with this half-baked race that used other races' logos, ship templates, etc.. Now I get to play races in the storyline. Although, I do think the custom races are a bit too much worse than the cookie-cutters right now. Also, it would be nice if there was a Green Party. Choose that political party, get +10% PQ bonus. Doggone tree-huggers.
If you eat enough pintos you will start making your contribution to global warming. So again, it goes back to El Nino. Where have you bean?
Isn't that the ship Columbus discovered America in?
I thought about the espionage, but I don't consider it a major change to strategy between DL and DA so I left it out. And yeah, anomalies are definitely giving you less up-front money now, so you can't sustain yourself on 2500bc anomalies anymore. I don't think that's a major strategy change either. Asteroids, too: they sure are the most noticeable difference in DA, but not a major strategy change. I do hope that asteroids get beefed up in a later release, and the financial manag
Ooh, unacceptable. The spore ship only has 1 hp and can't do combat, and it's too early in the game to get a medium hull. And by the time the new ship gets there, he'll have another Defender or two in orbit. This is critical. I cannot spend time with my SO until this life-or-death (preferably death) matter is resolved.
Okay, I guess I haven't played enough Gold to notice yet. In the beta they sure weren't there.
GC2 of course for TBS. I'm still loving Rise of Nations:Thrones and Patriots for RTS. And CnC Generals:Zero Hour. What I like about RTS in general over TBS is that your games don't take freaking 20 hours to play.
1) The single most important strategy change is your Super Ability. Your game plan should revolve around it. 2) Your starting planet doesn't get bonus tiles anymore. Hitting Ctrl-N until you get a Precursor Mine on your starting planet is gone. 3) The class-4 planets and below completely changed in DA. Once you get the terraforming techs, those things start to really be useful, and the class-1's will even pass up your initial class-10's you colonized early on if you
The Budwiser Frogs at one time were seen with the Olsen twins and the Pink Power Ranger (often mistaken for the Pink Powder Puff Girl). Of course this love triangle was less widely known about and yet highly controversial amongst conspiracy theorists. It seems the Bud Frogs, according to some, were A sexual and only loved each other. Others believe the Bud Frogs worked for the CIA as Black Ops Agents, and all those trucks they intercepted were actually loaded with
Hey, man, Stardock was good about releasing this a week early. Now I can neglect my SO a week early instead of on Valentine's Day. P.S. Anyone have any good ideas what to do on Valentine's Day? I haven't thought about it much. The Iconians just orbited a 2-laser fighter around a planet I was going to spore, and I can't figure out how to quickly beat them.
I like the fighters w/ military starbase tactic. It multiplies your bonus over several ships. That gives your smaller planets something to do, while your mega planets can put out capital ships and galactic achievements.
Ah man! It got NERFED! Thats a bummer. Not exactly. They're pulling less money from your treasury to build those things. That's a very GOOD thing. Super Hive in the beta just absolutely inhaled money. It didn't get nerfed, it just got re-balanced.
I tend to use abundant everything, small-large maps. That maximizes the economic starbases' usefulness (even though I never build them. hmmmm....), and I like abundant anomalies.
This is sad, but somehow I ended up the exact opposite. I have two legitimate, licensed copies of DL and only one gets used. Don't ask.
I'm sure it's X number of turns. I have never once gotten a mega-event, but that's because I don't bother with Huge galaxies. I wish we had early game events. The early game is a bit too cookie-cutter. An economic or research boom in mid-colony rush would be fun.
