Stardock is cautious about going lower than the "recommended selling prize" (or however that thing is called), they're not big enough to provoke the retailers yet. I'd give the bucks directly to them anyway (I'm well under $1 per hour already ), but retail demand doesn't hurt them either.
e-stab
He didn't imply that.
Yep, same for me. It causes unnecessary clicking around to switch screens.
Read the following announcement, if you haven't already. You do realize that your link basically is months old? This is about 1.2-Beta, not older than a few days.
It would be nice if this got some attention.
I agree. How did you put it in the poll at the GalCiv 1 site some time ago: "You keep adding more stuff and we keep buying it." Count me in!
I'm guessing for a shocker it may be the Terrans?? I thought our similar-looking Altarian brethren might be enough for starters. I don't think an evil race will be eliminated, the campaign is meant to be dark, isn't it? Hmm, maybe an evil race gets
Don't touch the Thalans! My money is on the Torians and Altarians. Hey, why don't you start a competition about what users think who gets the boot and why? The winner(s) could get the expansion for free. (...or a t-shirt of the extinct race. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/L
'Morning damoose! Be careful with the 1.2-Beta and submitting Metaverse games, my fellow Diplomats - my last game was flagged as "cheated" for some reason I don't understand and it seems to happen to others as well.
I had the same issue yesterday and wrote a mail about it.
Making a stand against the bad rumours: You can beat the game at the highest difficulty setting without tech trading on your part, Ctrl-N or exploits. Obviously there's no way I can prove it to you, but that's what I do, and I know Magnumaniac does the same. I agree though that some people are showy and use the wrong wording when talking about "how easy the game is" and that "the AI does crap only anyway".
Economic capital modifies base income gained from planet, so it's good to be a planet with lots of population. Economic centers do the same, but they don't really modify each other. Exactly: All bonuses are additive, not multiplicative. It still might be a good idea to build additional economic buildings on the planet with the economic capi
If you're a casual gamer you will find the AI challenging and should buy this game. If you're a veteran strategy gamer, once you begin understanding the game you will find how flawed the AI is. True to some extent, but (a) you won't find a turn-based strategy game with a better AI (b) the AI really keeps becoming better as it is improv
Can anyone please provide me with a link where the new combat system is explained? I don't understand what has changed. I would very much appreciate a reply on this question. Very simple: Ships that are destroyed in a round of combat shoot back one last time now. (They didn't in the earlier versions.) This makes it much more interesting to
Sounds great! I'm looking forward to try it out myself tomorrow.
Dyna Junka, you may need to check the "show pre-release versions" checkbox at the bottom to see beta versions. Or try changing the download server.
Graviton, we'll see about that. Right now it's only the first beta version for 1.2, I hope it'll get added later for 1.2. Hell, I'd really play on the smallest map size necessary to give the AI all the time it needs!
Your observation isn't entirely true: Military victory cannot be deactivated (on purpose), but the text is shown when you deactivate all other victory options. The devs are aware that the AI-CPU option isn't in the game, and Cari said it hasn't been abandoned.
It's not really 1.2, it's the first beta version for 1.2.
I think the majority of players don't care for influence victories so the trend has been to make it harder and harder to get the cultural victory. This would make sense if the difficulty was added to the high difficulty levels but I think it extends all the way down to cakewalk. Remember that flipping planets and winning a cultural victory are two di
I agree damoose. The latest scoring "uncertainties" didn't help either.
I just set the value to 1, started a game, saved it, exited the game and had a look at prefs.ini again: The value was back to 0. I don't think the option is really in or changes anything right now.
maybe they didn't worked out in the beta tests ? They were never in a test version as far as I know.
I understand you want to avoid scripting the AI but adding the following rules would improve the planet build up: (1) first two structures built on a planet should always be factories (2) only factories may be built on manufacturing bonus titles (3) only labs may be built on research bonus titles I agree. These building rules are the r
I hunted for this in options section but as we all know it does not appear there. Frogboy should we enable this feature on our own or whats the catch? It's on one of the first start up screens each game..
