i agree the beta is just great. its working out for me. I play the terrans mostly so i really dont miss the missing races cuz i play with random races anyhow so i never know what to expect till i meet them :). Thats just my 2 cents.
i agree with some others have pointed out, TA will probly get expantion pack of the year. DA got like 4th and imho TA looks and plays 10 times better expantion better than DA was... SO good luck with that:D.... BTW just wanted to say i loved all the stuff Stardock has done with this game and i dont know what i am going to do when this is all done? Wait for Galactic Civilizations 3? Play alot of TA while waiting for the next big thing i guess :D GREAT WORK. guys..

agreed. always depends against what /who you are defending against. i also found out at times a well rounded defensive ship (ie one with all 3 defenses) do come in handy when you face multiple enemies and not really at war with any of them at the time. they can survive alittle. enough if you have offensive ships with them. Never as good as ships designed defensively for a specific enemy.
regular missiles are in the tech tree. i assumed they would cover all forms of missile tech. then again, the ecm part of the defense tree would counter all forms of missiles too. dont need a bunch of robotic ships/flying bombs/giant ship missile in game , could cause too much of a headache for balancing i think. I do like the ideal of a interplanetary missile. could be multi warhead for anti fleet even. could use the tiny ship design. So basically it would be a tiny ship with a explosive modu
i dont see RTS being Tactical. really , giving ppl a veryshort time to do anything leaves most just hitting buttons and hoping to win the fight. Tactical battles means focusing on the tactics of the battles to me than is.

testing, and yess i had this same questioned, never asked it, and didnt used the search, dont know how off hand
i had the same problem and it was a UP resolution, BUT, the resolution was to set minimum speed to 5. With my techs i had speed of 7 i guess. my ships when built would start out as move 19/7 for the first move , they move the full amount , then they would go max of 7 parsecs. After the UP resolution was up, speeds returned to normal. SO if you look , you probly have a UP resolution setting minimum speed, that apparently sets max speed too. I know its not supose to so i guess its a bug <img s
i found that the custom ships are saved in two different areas, Depending on what part of the game you are currently playing . one for metaverse , the other area for other parts of the game i guess. i only played metaverse so i dont know exactly.
i found if you research star base defenses for the base soon enough, (3 stages i believe) they come in handy. In my last game i had my bases up to lvl 2 defenses and they would survive a few attacks for the enemy medium and large ship fleets, up to seven ships at times, but a few fleets would always wipe it out . Not sure how starbases recover hp yet, havent seen it posted either, anyhow , where was i. those bases i had had full wpns and defenses and would survive bout 2 to 3 fleets before suc

Attually i noticed that ships u designed reappear in future games. Just dont delete the designs, obsolete them instead, then in your future games, when u have the proper tech lvls for the components that were on the design, the design appears in your ship building lists. Ok, thought i had the latest beta. Ive been playing a game for bout the last 5 days so i havent checked for updates. but i cant seem to find that option in the options screen? ill check for updates again?
