I applaud Stardock for making changes to the game based on player feedback. I know how difficult it can be to listen to people criticize your creation in minute details, to the point where you wonder if it's worth it. It shows real dedication and professionalism to not give up and keep pushing to make the game the very best it can be. Three cheers!

Valamir,
That's a laugh. Every person who ever posted on this forum even a single time could make a committment to buy every single product Stardock ever puts out and you know how much impact it would have on their bottom line. Exactly BUPKISS. Zilch, nada, none
My point is not that we're significant in and of ourselves. My point is that GalCiv has not sold to the mass market. The only people that have bought it are those of us who tend to post in the forums. Theref
Sorry everyone, but I gotta put myself on CMs side yet again on this one. Sure it may be a minor bug and might not even affect your game, but the attitude I've seen here is that "it's not a bug until we have nothing better to do and decide it's a bug". The swipe at some of the people here was uncalled for, Brad. You need to be careful here - you haven't reached the masses yet. The people that visit this board ARE your customers. BTW - from reading this post, it seems lik
I've had this happen to me as well - every star was visible and I spent a good half hour combing the map sector by sector looking for it to no avail...
Beautiful! Rally points will make the late game much easier! Kudos to you guys for providing such awesome support.
If it does indeed have to do with balancing difficulty levels, I can certainly understand the problems (I have a little experience in that area myself).
You can find all three of those chains in the Boston area. Check the Cambridgeside Galleria shopping center for both EB and Best Buy. Comp USA is a little further down the road from them on Memorial Drive.
Actually, this one has been suggested a LOT (including by me above). It's the most obvious solution to the "trade good problem" and for some reason the one Brad doesn't want to try. I do think it's better in this last update, but they still seem weak for their costs as *trade* goods in my opinion.
Sorry CM - I didn't remember reading that solution in this thread... For me it would make the decision to go for a TG a lot more critical and would make it a much bigger rewa
I have a possible reason for the disconnect between CodeMonkey and Frogboy's opinions... Frogboy - you state that TGs cost 300 IU to build and therefore are overvalued at 1500. It may be true that the simple cost of a TG is 300, but (and here's where CodeMonkey comes in) the *actual* cost is much higher. Not only is there the lost time in the social queue, but there's the risk that you may get almost to the end and have it taken away. I don't think anyone's suggested
One other suggestion - replace the Drengin (sp?) diplomacy screen music! The rest of the game music is so mellow that this just seems too jarring when I go in there. In fact, I replaced that file with one of the minor races' music so that I wouldn't have to listen to it...
Count me in as a rally point believer. Just finished a large map game with alliance victory and more often than not I had a combat troop transport just sitting there because I forgot about it. Rally points are easy to implement - a click with a star system selected on empty space could set the point for any planet in that system. I don't need to be able to set it on another star or starbase - that would require some more complicated mechanism. Just let me gather my ships somewhere nearby and
Rally points for new ships would be handy for late game mop-up.
